Jeremy Vaught spent 16 years taking the Twitter username "@ music" to over 11 million users.

Now, the "X" platform decides it wants it, gives him "@ Musican" (without an i) failed to transfer his followers, and are now squatting on his 11 million follower account.

I come from a generation of computer nerds that got suspicious when a single character appeared where it didn't belong. "Stop everything we must have a virus". Our little Commodores didn't even have important info in them.

People installing apps at will on their personal devices that include banking / biometric details, is mind blowing to me.

WhatsApp is the most advanced virus spyware malicious code ever made. People install it willfully I have lost a lot of connections because I refuse to.

Because older generations tend to be more conservative than younger generations, it looks like people get more conservative with age.

This is, thankfully, untrue.

People get more progressive with age.

It's just that previous generations get a little left behind. The jump between generations is bigger than the progress that happens within people, giving the illusion that older people become more conservative.

I can want the bombing in Gaza to stop, while also wanting the safety of Israeli people.

I can want the Ukrainian invasion to end, while also not wanting Russian soldiers ripped away from their families to die.

I can want a proper democracy in which a crony capitalist candidate is not forced upon people, while also not wanting to be led by fascists.

All of these things are possible without even a shadow of contradiction.

The narrative that we must pick between them is the real con.

Thanks to profit motive based innovation and hard work, the ransomware industry has grown to a $250 Billion(!) industry, with "Ransomware As A Service" (RaaS) now being a very real business service offered by actual companies and resulting in probably multiple times more in costs in down time, and other costs.

Where do we get this incredible boost to productivity and efficiency from?

It is difficult to overstate the levels of pure dimwittery that goes into championing the major upheaval of fueled by some idea that it will reduce immigration.Even though all analysis before showed the direct opposite, that Brexit is a loss of control, all of those arguments were brushed aside and called "Project Fear"

Despite the ongoing cost of living crisis etc, we are still to feel the full economic impact, since it has all been quietly extended again.
