Not only that has the wrong architecture when it looks for the $7 trillion investment, but as they're talking to UAE government for the investment at this scale, it will not really guarantee any edge to the US. Nor does it do favours to the global .

@gimulnautti not sure who's doing favours by being the useful puppet, but the situation does look grim indeed.

Interesting insight into how switched from OpenSSL to BoringSSL and why they did so. https://www.fastly.com/blog/boringssl-to-make-tls-more-secure

@kubikpixel probably rooted in the fact that has never been boring. It always fails when you need it so the engineers just felt anything new should be boring 😅

What I really enjoy in @protonmail is self-destructing emails. You get a coupon code, you set it to self-destruct on the date of coupon expiry. Reducing inbox clutter.

All self-aware communities on should suspend just as @aral has done. There's no need for a toxic corporate experiment with the aim to expand the monetisation of violations.

The fact that had 2456 fossil fuel lobbyists present at the event is yet another blow to the credibility of the otherwise necessary conference.

The solidarity act of the week comes from where the dockworkers have denied to unload cars after Tesla had blocked its Swedish workers from unionising. You really cannot bully your way out in Scandinavia, Herr Musk. https://www.wired.com/story/tesla-sweden-strike/

"Apple backs national right-to-repair bill, offering parts, manuals, and tools"

A good read about a good step forward for

I think we need:

  • Ability for anyone to change out battery with simple tools

  • Ability to buy/use 3rd party parts without the requirement that they be officially paired by Apple.

@davemark it comes after European Commission cornered them after years of failed lobby against it on Apple's behalf. They had no choice if they saw to remain in the EU.

I'm thinking of blocking access to content on my site to anyone not running an ad blocker.

Thoughts?

@gcluley considering that most Ad and Malware detectors are a malware themselves, probably not a good idea.
