Today on No Man's Sky: We have the power to our base set up now so we don't have to literally keep feeding coal into the boilers, but we need a large refiner so that we can free ourselves from our coal habit once and for all.
I still need to buy a new ship to replace my jank starter ship so I can actually take on pirates. I need a few million more "units" first so today will be a lot of mission hunting.
I've made progress on the Milestones for Phase 3 today before work! This latest Expedition for No Man's Sky is engaging enough that I wasn't even aware of time passing. These milestones can be done in any order; I love being able to freely change my focus and get credit for things I unsuspectingly complete.
@chris I was tempted to stay on the first planet and get well acquainted with it! However, my wanderlust took over and got me flying through the cosmos. That first world will be fully explored after my wandering is done! Since traveling back will be really easy.
Today on No Man's Sky: Omega, we're going to try again but this time we will not redeem the bonus content until our ship is repaired. Yesterday we triggered a bug (shocking, I know) where if your ship's pulse engine was damaged but you didn't go through the tutorial mission to pick up the Hermetic Seal, you'd be SOL and have to start over or go into Creative Mode to fix the problem.
I ended up completing Phase 2 of the new No Man's Sky Expedition. That session went fast after a few minutes of getting used to my fresh character! This is the first Expedition I've ever done; the novelty is propelling me into rapid progress.
I'm putting the Living Starship Quest on hold because it's very tiresome. As in my Non-Expedition save, I'm in the part of the solar system I need to be. With luck, after the Expedition I'll be able to finally assemble the thing!
@WanderingInDigitalWorlds I played NMS at launch when you had to mine stuff for literal hours... I'd rather go back to that, than do Living Ship once more.
Also, you should read a guide on Living Ship and see if there is still a way to "re-roll" which design you get (there was a step near the end where you can sorta change the design but IDK if that still can be done).
@afreytes The current expedition is more about engaging with the game! Like being a Space Pirate, hunting for buried items, taking photos of worlds. Even just recording new animals on the planets you visit. For the newest Expedition, Hello Games made the right call to make it as varied as possible.

Time to try finally complete Max Payne 2 after two previous failed attempts. I bought the game new and for whatever reason the game never really gripped me like the first one did. The changes to how bullet time works always throws me off. #MaxPayne#MaxPayne2#PCGaming#retrogaming
Today's #Witcher session was helped out a lot by this four year old post on Reddit, where someone mapped out Cidaris and wrote up a whole bunch of NPCs and story hooks. Absolute gold.

@raptor85 My idea here is to both simplify things for newcomers and to somewhat handicap the experts. I love UT'99 to bits and Quake 2 is one of my most fondly remembered games, but the "let me have it all" model is great for single-player focused shooting. For online I think it's... going to let pros mop the floor with the rest, even more so than normally. I don't remember what Quake Champions does, even though I played it a bit.
I know the feeling from Xonotic, even tho I was pretty ok at it.
@raptor85 When the choice is limited, users need to think more about what they equip and why. They need to specialize and rely on their teammates a bit more. One of the key goals of Liblast in my mind is creating a game that is welcoming new and inexperienced players. I specifically stray away from the classic Arena Shooter design, because it is absolutely merciless on those who are not one with the game. I'd rather have a fun game you can pick up quickly & bring friends because it's rather easy
I've just discovered that my monitor of the last 2 years (HP X27q) supports HDR 400. Not great, but an improvement over SDR nonetheless, I'd say. Only problem is, when I enable it, the monitor begins to emit a very high pitch whining noise. It's incredibly quiet, so quiet I didn't notice it for a few days. But now that I know it's there, it's definitely there and I can't go back to not hearing it. What in the world is going on with the HDR setting?
