I find these images to be a fantastic illustration of how visual communication can drastically vary depending on your point of origin/point of reference even when you deal with the same data.
This summer temperature in Reykjavik was above 13-15°C most of the time, and last few days it was around scorching 20°C! Unheard of.

Does anybody know the name of this typeface which was prevalent in the 1950s and 60s? People often say it's Stymie Bold Italic, but it isn't. Stymie letters such as 'O' and 'U' are more rounded and the top of the 'A' has serif lines left and right, whereas my examples don't. #typography#graphicdesign#fonts

TYPOGRAPHY + CODING. A new superfamily of mono typefaces has been released for free. They are ostensibly for coding but have lots of features for graphic design, such as a feature called “texture healing” that adjusts letter shapes to have better rhythm but occupies the same space. And it has five styles.

@inkscape has quickly become one of my favourite design tools. The "Power stroke" live path effect allows you to turn a simple curvy stroke into a dynamic, sweeping form.

I've never been interested in stamps... but then I saw this new Swiss CHF 1.10 stamp.
It's not just a photographic reproduction: "To give the concrete wall depicted in the design a tactile dimension, cement pigments were added to the ultra-matt finish."
I think I'll pop out later and buy a few.
