Google provides a tool called PageSpeed Insights which gives a website some metrics to assess how well it is put together and how fast it loads. There are a lot of technical details but in general green scores are good, orange not great and red is bad.
I tried to ensure the tests were similar for each platform by choosing a page that shows a list of posts, like https://mastodon.social/explore.
The rest don’t seem to have prioritized performance or chose a software architecture that cannot be made to perform well on these metrics. It will be very interesting to see how that affects the cost of running large instances and the longevity of the platforms. Time will tell.

Pleroma und Akkoma gehören wegen ihrer Einfachheit zu den beliebtesten Diensten im Fediverse. Gegenüber Mastodon bieten sie default 5000 Zeichen und einige weitere Funktionen.
Herkunft und Einbindung ins Fediverse
Pleroma und dessen Fork Akkoma gehören einerseits neben Mastodon, Calckey/Firefish, Misskey, Foundkey und GoToSocial nicht nur wegen des Aussehens und Handlings zu der Sparte der twitterähnlichnen Microbloggingdienste im Fediverse. Es unterscheidet sich andererseits recht deutlich insbesondere von Mastodon, wobei das klassische Aussehen doch recht ähnlich ist - aber davon später mehr.
Wenn Du gerne eine Art Mastodon mit richtigen Microblogging-Möglichkeiten haben willst, dann würde ich tatsächlich stark zu Pleroma oder Akkoma raten!
Pleroma/Akkoma ist ähnlich wie Mastodon, aber übersichtlicher und mit mehr Funktionen: Es kann zusätzlich längere Posts (default bis 5000 Zeichen Länge) und Textformatierungen wie Markdown, "schöne Links", Zitate, Aufzählungslisten u.v.m. (was allerdings wie alle Textformatierungen nicht von Mastodon, aber von allen anderen Diensten dargestellt wird)....
Got a #report about a user saying things that were upsetting people, noticed it was from another instance, realized that I had access to the actual account that had sent it. Not sure what this is or why, didn't even realize #ActivityPub supported signed reports (I'd honestly like to get more), but obviously that's a risky thing if they didn't know it was happening and didn't know why.
Fediverse-Serie: Calckey/Firefish - Kommunikation im Fediverse auf einem neuen Level
Calckey/Firefish gehört im Fediverse zu den Microblogging Diensten aber ist auf Grund seiner Herkunft und Fähigkeiten schon weit mehr als das allseits bekannte Mastodon.
Just giving the new #Kenoma front-end for #Akkoma a go. I must say, I really like its clean and minimal user interface. Plus, it works smoothly on both desktop and mobile browsers!

Hallo Fediverse! Bitte um Rückmeldung + Ergänzungen: Übersichts-Tabelle mit Fediverse-Diensten, Vergleichsdiensten und Funktionen
Ich schreibe einen Artikel über den #FediverseFachtag und in dem Rahmen natürlich auch über das #Fediverse . Zielgruppe sind Leute, die wahrscheinlich zum Großteil noch gar nix vom Fediverse gehört haben.
Dazu bin ich dabei, eine Tabelle zu erstellen, in der einige Fedi-Dienste sowie deren Haupt-/ besondere Funktionen aufgeführt werden sollen.
Das ist der derzeitige Entwurf:

Ein Vergleich mit kommerziellen Plattformen ist natürlich immer nur zum Teil passend. Ich kenne auch keinen der kommerziellen Dienste aus eigener Erfahrung, aber für die avisierte Zielgruppe kann so ein Vergleich vielleicht trotzdem eine hilfreiche Orientierung sein. Vielleicht gibt es da aber auch Vergleiche, die passender sind. Einige Dienste (bspw. Medium, Podigee) kannte ich auch noch nicht mal vom Namen her, sondern habe das nur aus ähnlichen Vergleichstabellen übernommen.
Zu den "besonderen Funktionen":
Insbesondere Friendica, Firefish und v.a. Hubzilla haben so viele Funktionen, dass diese im Rahmen der Tabelle nur exemplarisch aufgeführt werden können und die Auswahl ist subjektiv. Hier wäre die Frage, ob das eine passende Auswahl ist, ob besonders wichtige fehlen oder ob andere Funktionen wichtiger oder besonderer sind.

Ein neues Projekt steht an und ich freue mich sehr. Ab diesem Monat werde ich regelmäßig für GNU/Linux.ch über das Fediverse schreiben, mal spezielle Projekte vorstellen, mal von Veranstaltungen berichten, mal einen Blick auf die Meta-Ebene vagen - es gibt jedenfalls genug zu berichten, dass ich eine Weile beschäftigt bin :D
Y a-t-il des admins Pleroma / Soapbox / Akkoma qui peuvent me confirmer si l'on peut empêcher l'indexage des moteurs de recherche comme le fait Masto ?
I'm currently on the hunt for the most suitable default front-end for #Akkoma. I've actually checked out Mastodon's front-end, but unfortunately, there are a few issues that make it less than ideal for our needs.
I've noticed that Soapbox seems to be the best technical option available, but for various reasons, I'd prefer to avoid using that software.
Considering Akkoma was forked from Pleroma, I was wondering if there might be an ethical fork of Soapbox out there? If such a fork existed, would you be interested in lending your support or contributing to it?

Aujourd’hui pour 4€/mois des hébergeurs proposent d’avoir un #WordPress avec un nom de domaine sans même avoir à rien configurer ni même se connecter au serveur par ssh/ftp.
C’est génial, ça permet à des personnes qui ne connaissent absolument rien à la technique d’avoir son bout de web a soit à moindre coût !
Avec la prise de conscience progressive du problème des médias sociaux #centralisé, ça serait génial de voir des offres similaires qui donnent un #Akkoma (ou autre solution ultra légère) clef en main, pour que chacun·e puisse maitriser son identité #sociale sur internet.
En plus ça permettrait de :
diminuer le risque de grosses instances qui recréer une centralisation.
diluer les part de marcher de #Mastodon qui représente aujourd’hui 77% du #fediverse (donnant à ce seul acteur trop de poids sur l’évolution d’#ActivityPub)

If you want a platform more focused on photos and images, then there is #Pixelfed. Or, you want bookshelves and tracking what you've read, or leaving #book reviews, there is #BookWyrm.
But the beauty of it all, all of these are connected to the fediverse. You can follow any user regardless of which software they are using; AND regardless which server (domain name) they signed-up for.
