This worked well last time so I'll try again!

My friend is a lead mobile developer (primarily Ionic) and his company just got bought. Fun times right? Well no, it's payday tomorrow and the new owners have said nobody is getting paid, but please still come in to work... Think it's time to move on!

He's UK based, super dedicated and looking for fully remote positions. Who can help me get him ?!

I've been given a Samsung Galaxy A51. I'd like to replace the stock Android with a free ROM.

Anyone done this?

Per our request, NitroKey has fixed one of the main issues in https://www.nitrokey.com/news/2023/smartphones-popular-qualcomm-chip-secretly-share-private-information-us-chip-maker. XTRA downloads are done by xtra-daemon in the OS, not firmware. It also does use HTTPS by default, but the OS can override the default URLs via gps.conf and some OSes do override to HTTP URLs.

@GrapheneOS I'd still agree with @nitrokey and I hope that they and @Fairphone will take and choose to build and -first devices.

Ideally yeet all that & out and give us , or similar no-bs- with @fdroidorg instead of !

Here's what I don't like about for : it doesn't render certain pages very well. Look at the image below, and you'll see what I mean. You should notice how the button to clear the search bar sticks out a bit; I actually have to press it before I can move to another result category (like Images) (thx query strings). You can also see that Firefox allows you to zoom out by a lot. Also, it's not just that's affected; I have to deal with Firefox obstructing some of the UI in practically every I visit. I hope that @mozilla sees this and looks for a way to fix the bug.

Is there a way to invoke Mozilla's Readability.js from a Linux / MacOS bash shell for a specific URL and save the output somewhere?

I'd like to test some issues I'm having with an Android app, but can't update and install the app on my device (which I apparently "use" but do not "own" or "control").

And/or a quick-start / idiot's guide to Android app building and packaging might be useful.

(I have worked out that an APK is just a structured ZIP file.)

Bought a |7 yesterday because I need it for work. Set it up using my Google Account, then the screen went blank and was dead. The device still reacts to touches and is detected when connected via cable but the screen is blank. I don't know but for some reason wants to start a fight with me. Gotta return it today as I'll be on holiday the next couple of days. Sigh. As if I wouldn't have better things to do.

I am not looking to argue and really don't care if you like something else more, but these are my current favorite authentication managers:

Passwords: @keepassxc
MFA: Authy

Yes, you can do MFA with KeePassXC and a million other clients, but the UI and sync for Authy is above and beyond anything else I've used (and yes, I'm bummed Authy isn't open source.)

vwbusguy,
@vwbusguy@mastodon.online avatar

@keepassxc As a tip for using on , use the homescreen widget and sidebar to save a few taps. The time save can really add up quickly.

seems to be rolling out some kind of disastrous update for scrolling. So far it is affecting one household device but not another

Any upward scroll other than the teensie-tiniest microscroll triggers reloading the page. I'm not talking about actual overscrolling

This is awful when trying to read my Mastodon feed. Or anything longer than one screenfull

Anybody have a fix?

Boosts very much appreciated 💕
