I just heard the bad news that I am probably going to need a new job starting in July.
So, before beginning the regular search, I wanted to ask my Fedi friends if anyone could use a capable C++ programmer with lots of graphics and networking experience. I wouldn't mind a change, so I'm open to anything. Even other programming languages! It would be awesome if I could use Linux to do the work. 🐧
Locations I would consider are: Central Europe, Melbourne, Sydney or Remote
Welp. It seems I’m now #LookingForWork in an especially uncertain tech job market. Does anyone have a place for a systems-minded developer (former Linux sysadmin) with many years of experience on their team? I’ve been working with #Python for the last few years, but I’ve used enough languages and systems at this point that learning something new would also be wonderful. #GetFediHired#Hiring#HachyJobs
Thinking about a change, if you know of anyone hiring for C/C++ senior developers full time with benefits and decent culture, inside or outside of games, 10yrs professional experience, US-based, preferably remote but if not it depends on the city
Hello! I'm Emily. I'm looking to get into IT at an entry level. I've used linux for about 6 years now and I recently started running a small homelab. I've made a couple of projects in Bash, Python, JavaScript, and Rust.
Fair warning, I'm a blue-haired trans lesbian that can only work remotely or around south-central Louisiana.
Any advice on how to proceed or leads on where to apply would be greatly appreciated. I don't often ask for help, but times are dire and getting moreso. Any help or advice would be a great boon, so thank you in advance!
I’m an Illustrator and Designer with 16 + years experience working within distributed teams worldwide across many industries including Environmental and Sustainability, Video Games, and Medical.
I’m thinking very seriously about finding a different job. If you know of any openings, I’m really good at JS, CSS, animation and visual polish, React, Lua, and so on. I coded a game for Playdate, do game design, and am an extremely careful listener, planner, and communicator.
1/ My postdoc position ends soon, so I'm looking for a new data analysis, programming (#RStats, #Python), or research role that can be #remote from Newcastle upon Tyne, UK. I'm a US citizen (which may open up US jobs?) and have the right to work in the UK.
I plan to take some time to rest and heal until after the festive break, but in the meantime if anyone knows of any writing jobs, preferably remote WFH, please let me know. I have over 20 years experience of writing and editing, with specialism in education and disability.
I graduate in August, which means I'm looking for a job! I have almost 5 years of experience with #GNOME/#Linux desktop development and over 2 years part-time professional experience with full-stack development (#dotnet, #angular, #ionic). Plus I've dipped my toes in a ton of other things over the years.
Looking for something remote or in the #neworleans area. If you've got anything let me know! DMs open, boosts appreciated.
I am on the hunt for a new role as an Engineering Manager. While my background is is Software Build and Delivery, DevSecOps, and SRE leadership, I am open to other broader EM opportunities if you are open to my broader leadership and project management experience.
I'm a disabled queer gamedev, I do First Person Animation, and I really like working with Animation Blueprints and Control Rig in Unreal (and with Unreal in general) and I've got over 3 years of experience in the industry.
They finally got me, too. Yesterday, after 5.5 years at Skillshare, I was laid off along with @ramsey and 21 others.
That means I'm immediately available for work. I am looking for a staff/principal software engineer role working on a foundations/platform team. I love modernising legacy applications and mentoring other engineers.
I'm based in the UK but happy to work for a company anywhere in the world - contract or perm. So let's chat. :)
Is your studio making a competitive or investment-heavy game? Don't know the first thing about dealing with cheaters? I'm making myself available for consultations!
Turn-key solutions like BattlEye and Easy Anti-Cheat only cover some attack vectors. I can help you start implementing security-by-design early in your development cycle. You'll lower long-term costs and workload by making sure you're not left scrambling to add band-aid fixes and rebuilding content to address vulnerabilities late in development... or worse: after launch
