lmao, the US military keeps accidentally sending highly sensitive information to email addresses in Mali because they write .ml instead of .mil. The Dutch company managing Mali’s domain has collected 117,000 emails this year alone.

Control of Mali’s domain is about to revert to the Mali government, at which point it can collect all those emails. It’s a close ally of Russia, and could theoretically pass on information.

Republicans try to stop military’s electrification with mind-bogglingly dumb proposals (electrek.co)

Several Republican representatives have proposed amendments to the National Defense Authorization Act to try to stop the Pentagon’s electrification. The proposals sound so mind-bogglingly dumb that they look like they were written by 19th-century Luddites or the fossil fuel industry itself....

The Pentagon has a laser that can identify people from a distance—by their heartbeat

"The Jetson prototype can pick up on a unique cardiac signature from 200 meters away, even through clothes.

Everyone’s heart is different. Like the iris or fingerprint, our unique cardiac signature can be used as a way to tell us apart. Crucially, it can be done from a distance."

that's nice Pentagon. but couldn't we have done this a little bit sooner before all the #ElonMusk #Putin bootlicking on terminal access? it's an #American company

granted, this is all "fog of war" stuff and it's probably not the whole story. i'm sure there was intelligence gathering and deception going on, "random" errors in terminals used by #Russia.
