Morning all. It’s a wet day here in south , and I have some spare hours, so let’s see if I can do some geeking. There’s an “Explore the Capital day-to-go ticket” only available from staff. Let’s see if I can find one. 1/n

The second full day of our visit to was devoted to visiting , the tallest in south . This was a very nice of 15 km with some steep ascents and descents but no climbing.

Starting from the car park, a path started to climb gently upwards. You can see Pen Y Fan on the horizon near the centre of the image.

Think about a pedestrian/cyclist being hit by a car: the person with the lowest carbon footprint, space use, noise and pollution production hit by a high carbon, space-guzzling, noisy and polluting box of metal.

Roads are for people, not for cars - cars have their uses, but that does not imply that the whole system should be built to satisfy their merest whim.

So well done Wales for making 20mph the default speed limit in residential/built-up areas.

So Owen has had his red card, for a shoulder to Taine Basham's head, overturned.

I am at a loss to see where the review board found its rationale

Head contact? Yes
Foul play? Yes
Degree of danger? Yes - Basham at full speed, Farrell accelerating up into the side of his jaw - HIA
Mitigation - none that I can see

It makes a mockery of the whole process, from the review bunker through to the disciplinary committee

Nua-: #Ceridwen lived on an island in the middle of Lake Bala (Llyn Tegid) in north #Wales with her mate, Tegid Voel (“the bald”), and their two children, the beautiful Creirwy (“light”) and the ugliest little boy in the world, Afagddu (“dark”). To compensate for his unfortunate appearance, Ceridwen planned to make her son a great seer, and to this end this fearsome goddess (sometimes called a witch or sorceress) brewed a powerful secret mixture of herbs. Into her cauldron she piled the herbs to simmer for a year and a day—a magical length of time appropriate to such a concoction. The brew had to be stirred regularly, and Ceridwen was not always on hand to keep the brew mixed. So she set a little boy named #Gwion to stir the cauldron, warning him that he must on no account taste it. Three tiny drops splattered from the cooking pot onto Gwion’s thumb, which he popped in his mouth to ease the burn. Immediately, all the wisdom and inspiration Ceridwen had intended for Afagddu was Gwion’s.

And the troglodytes win. With help from the media - Guardian INCLUDED. No one ever looks at the very successful roll out in the Scottish Borders (Conservative council). Grumbles maybe, but I know of no one who wants to go back from safer, more pleasant towns and villages. But what can you expect from a Starmerite?

Clearly the Welsh polis have learnt something from Farage’s appearance in Edinburgh (milk shakes then) and no doubt Vaughan Gething will have learnt something. He would not have wanted the instigator of the stitch up treated in the same way as PM.

I wrote a long post about trying to use an EV for a road trip holiday across Wales. It was not easy (and it was not exactly by choice!)

I learned a lot, and it was quite frustrating. But hey, we made it!

Mostly what I learned was the public charging infrastructure needs a lot of work.
