Maroon Bells Panoramic

Maroon Bells had always been on my bucket list. This mountain landscape is truly a wonderful hiking destination.
I was able to time the trip almost perfectly for the fall color season. The aspen trees were dressed in their best fall colors and the big puffy clouds in the sky kept the afternoon cool.

Looking at photos from hiking in the Colorado, US a few summers ago. January is a real challenge; nice to dream about a flower filled meadow.

Rocky Mountain High

This image was captured from the back side of the Snowbird as the clouds were breaking up after a large snowstorm. I set this shot up from just below the chair lift looking east. I'm not exactly sure of the name of these peaks but from looking at google maps/earth I suspect that these are called the twin peaks. Not sure I am ready for this, but it could be just days away. The snow last winter in New Mexico was beautiful. The Sangre de Cristo Mountains at the end of the Rocky Mountains were blanket in heavy snow. A winter like we hadn't seen in awhile. You ready for some snow?

Does anyone have a favourite mountain?
This is my favourite mountain, and one of my favourite places.
Pyramid Lake with Pyramid Mountain in the background.
Just a few K's North of the town of Jasper in Alberta.

A worthwhile hike through snow and elevation to the stunning Emerald Lake in the Rockies. Can't wait to visit this beautiful area again! https://dansproul.com/featured/emerald-lake-panorama-dan-sproul.html

Any other year, heading into late August this field would be all tans and browns, but we've had so much rain it's still green, or what passes for green in this semi-arid zone.
