When I first saw Hughes House, the 1898 home (now a museum) built by the Pacific Ocean near Port Orford, OR, I thought, "This is a place to grow up in, be a child in, run about and play in!"
And it is good to know that, at one time and for awhile, there was a family in this house, there were children, and they did run and play through this magical place.
First place in Best Alcohol Ink Painting contest! Blown yellow flowers on black. Yellow represents warmth, cheerfulness & increased mental activity. Orange represents happiness, creativity & success. A winning combination.
May the artwork bring to your soul the joy and independence that living free -- thinking, speaking, and journeying -- engenders, nurtures, and strengthens.
Generally, there are no signs on country back roads barring the "Warning: Primitive Road Ahead," in which case you probably don't want to go much further in a regular car.
But if you don't see that sign, keep going, see what you see, maybe pull over to the side, step out of the vehicle, take a good stretch, and listen for the subtle sounds of the rural landscape.
It was red rock country, all right, but not limited to that. The surface of the rocks and cliffs caught light, absorbed shadows, in such a way that an array of colors set forth before the viewer.
And they didn't just stay that way. As the light shifted and changed, so did the colors of the canyon.
Nature refuses to be circumscribed and classified.
I've been working on this a bit today. I'm going to add lots of colorful smoke and bubbles coming out of the cauldron. I'm a slow painter, but I'm sure I'll finish before witch season 😉
I hope you're all having a lovely day ✌️

May the artwork take you to a place of great beauty and majesty, one in which you feel watched over by a benevolent force of goodness, truth, and peace.
