Hey 😁

What would it take for you to join (or at least checkout) an club? What would make it appealing to you? What hinders you from doing so?

I'm currently setting one up with the goal to support underrepresented groups (for instance women) in the sport of @archery.

Disclaimer: The club is going to be based in Germany and has nothing to do with hunting. It's a sole recreational and competitive sports club.

Please for reach! 🚀

Thank you for taking the time! 🙌♥️

Bees (that are not our bees) took over the shed. My daughter (a beekeeper) had to remove them. As she was working, a small child passing on a trike looked terrified and shouted 'Bee Men!'.

Looking at my female dominated grad cohort 20yrs ago, I expected we were going to be part of a shift to include more women in science as our careers advanced.

But retention percentages for women from student to full professor are the same now as they were when I started writing about it in the 2000s.

A while ago, suffering from PND, I started a project to try and coax myself out of what was utter isolation.

I asked women to pose for portraits without the makeup they would normally wear. It was interesting, some women turned up with no makeup, but some attended still with mascara, or their eyebrows done etc.

I called it 'As Others See Us' which is from the Scottish Poet Robert Burns...

“O, wad some Power the giftie gie us
To see oursels as others see us!'

Sacramento Sheriff is sharing license plate reader data with anti-abortion states, records show (www.sacbee.com)

In 2015, Democratic Elk Grove Assemblyman Jim Cooper voted for Senate Bill 34, which restricted law enforcement from sharing automated license plate reader (ALPR) data with out-of-state authorities. In 2023, now-Sacramento County Sheriff Cooper appears to be doing just that....

My "favourite" thing about this study is the part where achaeologists who found hunting tools/weapons in women's graves assumed they were kitchen implements.

Like, "well Hans, in this woman's grave, we found what inscriptions at the time have named the Flail of Vengeance. As of right now, we are not sure to what culinary task this tool was turned, but conjecture that it was possibly the preparation of small pies."

More men need to take active measures to not follow women tbh.

Like, my partner will cross the street and go out of his way if he's walking behind a woman, so that she doesn't feel threatened or bothered by his presence.

Today I was "followed" by a man in a parking lot. I know he wasn't following me, I knew it at the time as well, that he was just walking to his car the same as I was.. but it scared me. A lot.

I would have appreciated it if he crossed away from me. It would have been a great kindness.

so one thing I do not understand about interacting with . Why is it necessary to talk about frustrations without the intention of also gaining solutions or advice to fix the problems? It is less efficient to talk about a problem and not solve it than it is to talk about a problem and then solve it after finding a viable solution. Why then is it necessary to talk about a problem with the intent of only venting frustration? Would it not be easier to just solve the problem after evaluating solutions with people and then solving it instead of having an unnecesssary meeting of the minds between those 2 other meetings? I am genuinely curious, please do not take this the wrong way, I am really truly trying to understand the thought process of this as I see such as completely irrelevant but I know I must understand it for future interactions in the future. Not saying all women do this, but it is generally a thought pattern I've seen only in women that I know.

But, hey, Biden's old!
