"'I do not think we should be appropriating $10.1 billion for the right-wing, extremist Netanyahu government to continue its current military approach. What the Netanyahu government is doing is immoral, it is in violation of international law, and the United States should not be complicit in those actions,' Sanders argued on the Senate floor."
I am begging you all once more to understand - the point of bringing up the decades long and systematic abuse, apartheid, and Occupation by the Israeli government of Palestinians ISN'T to "excuse" Hamas. It's to point out that it will be IMPOSSIBLE to build a lasting peace even IF Hamas is removed, as long the deliberate and ongoing IDF and Occupation violence continues.
“Palestinians are forbidden from gathering rain water for domestic or agricultural needs.”
– Third Periodic Report of Israel’s violations of the International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights with regard to the human rights to water and sanitation in the Occupied Palestinian Territory
Update: The video has been restored thanks to interventions from allies.
We just had a video removed immediately upon publication on Instagram. The platform claimed it contained "praise or support" of "people and organizations we define as dangerous." The video did nothing of the sort.
It was a video report - from our journalists – about increased arrests in the occupied West Bank.
Once again, the issue is portrayed as a bunch of extremists who took over Israel. This is not untrue, but it hides the fact that before these extremists were anywhere near power, Israel was already systematically dispossessing, colonizing, and brutalizing Palestinians.
Every Israeli I know hates Netanyahu, Israel's messianic far right, settlements, and settlers. And I mean HATES them.
But Israeli society is still overwhelmingly supportive of the war.
This video was captured in the West Bank village of Deir Dobwan. We clearly see IDF troops standing by while settlers set a civilian car on fire.
This is a good reminder that settler violence is only possible because of the complicity of the IDF.
The idea that settlements & settler violence are 'fringe' is delusional. From tax breaks to land grabs to military support, the settler movement couldn't exist without the active support of the Israeli state.
Today, movements, organizations and activists - #Jews and #Arabs - have published a joint declaration for #peace, calling (among other things) for a #ceasefire and negotiations for a political agreement.
Please help to share the declaration to make the voice of local activists heard and known!
"There are no winners in war. Only peace will bring security."
In the same way that we condemn the violent terrorist group Hamas, we should also condemn the violent paramilitary settler groups displacing and killing Palestinians with wanton abandon:
Palestinians in Ramallah in the occupied West Bank carried a long banner filled with the names of thousands of Palestinians killed in Gaza, in a protest marking the beginning of the new year.
“Prior to her arrest, she had helped form a new collective of #women lawyers to work on the unprecedented number of Palestinians being jailed in the #WestBank and #Jerusalem”
“The most shocking thing about my time over there was how uncomplicated it actually is,” says Coates, who calls segregation in Palestine and Israel “evil.”
“There’s no way for me, as an African American, to come back and stand before you, to witness segregation and not say anything…”
Coates acknowledges the suppression of those advocating for Palestinian rights … “I have to measure my fear against the misery that I saw.”
🇮🇱 Chilean lawyers accuse Israel of war crimes at the ICC.
In a legal move, 100 Chilean lawyers, mostly of Palestinian descent, have filed a formal complaint with the International Criminal Court (ICC) accusing Israel of committing genocide, war crimes and crimes against humanity in the Gaza Strip.
This complaint alleges violations of the Fourth Geneva Convention of 1949 and is set for review by the ICC on the forthcoming Monday.
In the West Bank, Israeli Settlers Are Burning Palestinians’ Olive Trees
In the West Bank, the Israeli army has banned Palestinian farmers from reaching their land and groups of settlers are burning farmers’ crops. Jacobin spoke to olive growers about Israel’s draconian moves to destroy their livelihoods.

Stolen West Bank settlement homes are being sold in America to Jews. An real estate event at a synagogue was set up, and this fine gentleman (a Jewish man) was having none of it.
Pentagon chief says civilian death toll in Gaza ‘far too high’
"Yet, despite Washington’s increased criticism of Israel, US officials stress that they will continue to provide Israel with the weapons it needs to continue its war on Gaza."
"The displacement of Palestinians and the growth of settlements—these are two processes that go hand in hand. This is not about this government, this is not about Netanyahu or his ministers. This is an Israeli project that has been unfolding under left, right, and center governments. Each and every one of them have been doing exactly this since 1967. Let’s not be ahistorical. That is a key part of understanding what is unfolding here.'
There have been at least 794 attacks by Israeli settlers on Palestinians in the West Bank since Oct. 7.
Israeli human rights groups blame Netanyahu’s far-right government for fueling settler violence by promoting an ideology of total Israeli supremacy in the West Bank.
And it’s not just settlers. Nearly 500 Palestinians have been killed there since Oct. 7,
most of them by Israeli soldiers.
Dozens of masked settlers from the settlement Yitzhar set fields and olive groves on fire on the lands of Burin, in the West Bank. They were escorted by 6-7 armed men in uniforms.
