If you ever get the opportunity to try micro cilantro, do! It’s outrageously strong; like 10x more cilantro flavor than mature plants. Unless you’re one of those people for whom it tastes like soap, in which case, so sorry.

Hmm, went down an Internet rathole, and apparently California farmworkers were once forced to use something called a "short handled hoe" (or El Cortito), which caused "debilitating and life long back pain" (remind me to skip using one of those in the garden). Outlawed in 1975. https://americanhistory.si.edu/blog/2013/02/feeding-america-the-people-and-the-politics-that-bring-food-to-our-table.html

Sometimes simple is just better. As the sun was setting the heads of wheat were catching the last of the fading light. Interestingly, wheat is the most harvested crop in the world

Open source agriculture is a movement that aims to hack the farming industry by sharing knowledge, tools, and practices among farmers and enthusiasts. Some examples of open source agriculture projects are FarmBot, OpenAg, and Open Source Ecology. These projects use open hardware, software, and data to create more sustainable, efficient and accessible forms of agriculture.
