I’m on the market for a staff/principal role. I have a passion for #SoftwareArchitecture, Developer Experience, community, mentoring, #performance, and interacting with business and domain experts.
Me, php senior developer and passionate open source maintainer, is hoping for a new #job for 2024. Anything preferably remote (located in CEST), working with #php / #Laravel, one specific product, regardless of stack complexity, up to 32 hours/week so I have time left to manage #flarum.
Check my personal website for information about me and my linkedin for a digital resume; https://luceos.com.
If anyone is interested in a hybrid software engineering role in #Nashville, here’s a #PHP / #Laravel role with a good, local company, Bernard Health.
Edit: I removed the word “remote” from “remote-hybrid,” since this was confusing to some. This is a remote hybrid position, meaning it requires some days in the office each week.
Is anyone looking for a little extra development help? I've been struggling to find projects lately.
I've been building Web sites & UIs since the early 00s. I worked back through the stack with PHP & Node. I use NextJS, React, Laravel, some Vue. I'm learning Qwik.
I’m UK-based, experienced at remote. I can mentor/advise or be a CTO sounding board. I'm open to one-off, short or long term projects.
Are you a #php developer or a WordPress/Laravel/Symfony/Drupal developer?
Understanding the underlying language will make you more effective and considerably more flexible/employable.
Understanding the language helps you read the framework code and make sense of complex things. It lets you adopt new tech. And it empowers you to switch from one project to another without fear.
Today I collaborated with ondrey on a fix for #phpstan which improves a previous performance fix, which caused perf regressions in a #laravel edge-case.
The new fix allows a 2-3 seconds instead of 2-3 minutes analysis in all mentioned cases.
I'm researching open source help desk options this morning and came across this gem. Free Scout (built on #Laravel 5.5) doesn't believe in updating the framework. But wait, it gets better. They think the proper solution for bugs or upgrading #PHP versions is “patching and overriding vendor files”
I'm an experienced #freelance#developer, specialized in #PHP / #Laravel. I build new applications, and develop / debug / refactor legacy code. I can also help you with servers and infrastructure.
I am currently available for around 20 hours a week. Fully #remote, or hybrid in the neighbourhood of #Rotterdam, the Netherlands.
If you're using a composer package that doesn't support #PHP or #laravel updates the correct procedure is fork - make the updates - PR YOUR CHANGES BACK!
You can use a composer alias if you want to use your fork until the PR is merged - don't just make your own package!
I'm interested following more people here, particularly in the #php#laravel and #comicbooks community. It's actually quite challenging to find folks on this service IMO.
The Orlando PHP Meetup is an in-person user group for anyone interested in the #PHP programming language, the foundation of development tools like #Laravel, #Symfony, #WordPress, and #Drupal, used for web application and website development.
One of my former employers is looking for a Laravel developer. Remote is ok in certain US states (WA, OR, ID, TX, MI, WI, IL, NY, DE) if willing to fly to WA office sometimes.
As soon as they have the job posting up on their website I'll edit this to add a link. Until then feel free to DM if interested and I can send more info or answer questions.
The long awaited Missing Authorisation module for Practical Laravel Security is now LIVE! 🎉
This module covers IDORs, broken crypto, exposed routes, and related records, and includes 6 challenges to teach you how to find and exploit these vulnerabilities. 🕵️
The associated defence modules, covering Policies, Gates, Signed URLs, etc, should be coming next week to complete the topic.
