Did you know that "eat the " was first a concept?

Limitarianism is fundamentally the study of when it might be to put limitations on citizens in a governed society. It's a case-based theory, not a political system.

It asks questions like: is ever individual? What is the wealth limit?

& questions it isn't positing, like: If no one is ultra-rich, should no one be ? Is limitarianism virtue or justifiable without perfectionist views?

Thoughts?

J Uher, 2022 Front. Psychol

"The problem landscape [...] centres on the failed distinction between psychology’s study phenomena (e.g., experiences, everyday constructs) and the means of their exploration (e.g., terms, data, scientific constructs)—psychologists’ cardinal error."

August 11, 1967 marked the first of three #TV appearances by #novelist and #philosopher #AynRand on The #TonightShow with #JohnnyCarson.

(Other guests that night were actress Florence Henderson and Motown hitmakers the Temptations—quite an eclectic lineup!)

Here’s a clip of Rand answering Johnny about the #anxiety and unearned #guilt from accepting the wrong moral standards: https://youtube.com/clip/Ugkxl2W3zhtVKCq2qdQFb0UljG-Yovi1Tmef

Intelligence is the solitary strength of extracting from the chaos of one's own life the handful of light sufficient to illuminate a little further than oneself, towards the other over there, like us lost in the dark. [Christian Bobin, french author]. (2024).

Travis Rieder's new book, Catastrophe Ethics, "aims to advise the well-intentioned, morally anxious & philosophically curious person" confronting the questions about whether our personal choices about the environment, technology, & justice matter.

Human children learn #language in order to be able to communicate about a fundamentally internal experience presented to them by their brain & body.

Today, we are making machines learn language in order to present a convincing simulacrum of possessing ived experience.

Whatever artificial general intelligence is, i’m quite sure it is not the above.
