@spitfire I will see if I can find that code copy option. I am using #squarespace. That code is in a Markdown code block. I will see if they offer that option.
Yes, that date helper is static. I left it like that for two reasons, I wanted to test it manually before summer came and I am not sure how to program it 😀.
Hi all. Hope everyone is doing well. It's about to be 3:00 AM here, and I'm about to get some sleep, but before I do, I wanted to ask for #advice from those who might know more about #technology, creating #websites, and #accessibility than I do. My mom runs a #construction#business and has a website she designed herself with drag and drop on #GoDaddy. She owns the #domain it's on and wants to move the site for a few reasons: it keeps getting hacked and she's getting a lot of spam and scam messages, customer service is poor, and GoDaddy isn't very #accessible with #ScreenReaders, so I can't help her manage her website at all. I've done some research and seen that other recommended no-code website builders are #Wix, #Squarespace, and #Weebly, but I can't find a lot of information on their accessibility. I've seen posts on #Reddit recommending hiring someone to design your website, but we don't know anyone who could do that, and our budget probably wouldn't be high enough. My mom isn't great with #tech and really needs a no-code solution. Does anyone know about the accessibility of website builders like the ones I mentioned, or can you suggest another one that might work? Thanks. #blind@mastoblind
This is a good tutorial. I'm still contemplating moving my blog to somewhere else. Either Squarespace or WordPress dot com. It’s currently in Wordpress on a third-party hosting site.

Pleasantly surprised to see this setting in #Substack today.
I wish #Squarespace, where my website is hosted, would allow me to do the same. I know there are other workarounds with custom code, but having a toggle like this in the settings is so much simpler.
Although to be honest I don’t know if I would block my website from #AI indexing, since I do actually want it to appear on search. With the newsletter, it feels different
I am SO happy that WP.com supports the #Fediverse this way. Now I don't have to depend on brid.gy to allow Mastodon comments to my posts to appear on my blog. I'll figure out how to do this after my walk.
Woohoo. So excited and am so glad I decided to ditch #Squarespace for #Wordpress this year.

It's been nearly half a year since I switched from #Squarespace to #Wordpress (wp.com, to be specific), and I'm happy. Never thought I'd say this as I swore off WP around 2015, but Squarespace became too much of a walled garden and moving out of it was getting more of a nightmare daily. And oh yeah my website could never pass the page speed test.
We have a #squarespace business website. Does anyone know how we could encourage Squarespace to add the mastodon icon to its social media link options? When I add my mastodon account it just shows a link icon rather than the Mastodon icon…
With Google Domains being sold to SquareSpace, I'm curious if people in the #fediverse have a strong recommendation for an alternate registrar to transfer a domain to?
From the FWIW Dept:
"#Squarespace recently announced that it entered into an agreement to purchase all domain name registrations and related customer accounts from #GoogleDomains."
Hello Mastodonians, any #Squarespace user here?
I was editing my website and noticed they also jumped to the #AI bandwagon, but as for #Notion, it isn't clear to me if they are using ALL my content to feed their AI now, or if they will scrape just the one generated with it.
I really don't like it, so I am also welcoming suggestion for migrating my website somewhere else (another CMS because I don't have time for an entire custom code and its maintenance)
🧵After a video by #LouisRossman, on whether or not #AdBlocking is #Piracy, I got some thoughts. (This isn't a response to the video, but I'll link it anyway.)
BTW., the thread lead to a #BlogPost👇🏻, that's probably easier to read - with links and images in Technicolor™! (And no ads.😉)
Perhaps something for companies like #Fastmail, #Squarespace, or even internet/cell providers?
Your customers becomes a bit more sticky, but they could still move their followers and followees any time (if they stop paying for the service, don't like the moderation, or something else).
#Vivaldi and #Mozilla are in this space as well - but their model is a variation: The function of their instances is to point people to the parts of their business that do make money. (Also viable.)
