Imma be real with ya'll, I'm PISSED at the instances who federated with , especially since many people came to the to escape capitalism as much as we can.

WHY did you federate with Zuck's network knowing damn well what he intends to do in the fediverse? Is it clout? Is it exposure for your platforms? I don't understand at all...

Short-term gains will only go for while until you lose them, and the risks you ignored will come bite you hard.

I've been getting a bit lost on my career building. I knew what kind of job I want to do, but I don't know what practice and other preparations to prioritize. And I have to network with people too.

I just have no clear direction right now as I still mind-wander about the many software, protocols, or security practices I should study. But I've also been thinking about skills that involve the social aspects of security. Hmm..

How do remote workers get employment on the internet? Is there general tips you can provide for me?

intelgraphy, to ADHD
@intelgraphy@hachyderm.io avatar

I'm still unemployed to this day in my mid-late 20s. I currently have zero job experience, so I am not prepared for the workplace, let alone do well in a goddamn interview as a neurodiverse person.

I didn't know what kind of career I wanted to do until recently. It took me years to decide.

So how does one with no experience and soft skills get employed in this environment?

I remember when I was a child, going for a health checkup at the clinic was a breezy. The doctor checked my breathing, height and weight, ears, tongue, and sometimes blood tests and vaccine shots. The wait times were decent back then.

Nowadays, not only are the wait times without an appointment so long, but the doctor doesn’t even have time to do the routine check ups anymore because they have so little time for me and my family.

If I’m going to get a new phone, it’d better be a more old school flip phone with some modern features. I don’t want to get tracked and addicted anymore at this point.

This really feels like the genocide against Palestine is the straw that broke everyone's backs.
The ruling class is desperate to take the land for their military and industry purposes, so they're willing to massacre an entire ethnicity of people native to the region to accomplish that.

This is simply the epitome of capitalism and colonialism: greed, violence, and dominance.

This needs to stop. We are tired of this bullshit.

Often times, I wanted to share my trauma to other people, but I don’t want to bother them with so much gloom.

I do feel lonely whenever I suffer from recalling those awful memories. I tear up every time, and this happens again every once in a while. It’s a massive curse that comes with ADHD; I tend to remember bad memories much more than the good.

I want to have some closure to these thoughts, but I don’t know how and when.

I've been using the APT utility for so long, but I recently tried Flatpak for the first time. My first impression was that the interface looks cool and cleaner. The check marks for pending files makes the rapid scrolling redundant.

It's pathetic that the domain name for X is STILL called 'twitter'. It's very unlikely that Musk would be able to claim a domain name that's simply named 'X'

I keep seeing gamers, movie lovers, and anime fans being constantly led down by corporations because the products are progressively downgrading, and they're screwing over their customers with micro-transactions or price gouging.

I always want to just tell everybody that maybe we don't necessary need these things. There are other ways to entertain ourselves and each other that are either cheaper or just free of charge.

The act of censoring the realities of war all in the name of 'national security' is sickening. This is just mafia-like behavior.

I can’t deal with people anymore. I don’t want to be in loud and rude crowds anymore. I don’t want to live in the same house as people who are causing too much noise and odour for my senses. I’m tired of being stuck in the house with very little sunlight and fresh oxygen from trees.

And I dread of dealing with more people when I get employed. If people don’t respect my sensitivity and needs, then I can’t be with them.

I want to be alone, in nature and in silence.

Resume writing looks so intimidating. Why is this shit even necessary? Years ago, I’ve been told at high school that I will get auto rejected over a simple spelling or grammar mistake. And I feel pressured to make my resume pretty and well organized.

The way a resume looks or formatted shouldn’t be a determining factor for whether or not an applicant gets accepted. Shouldn’t skills or experience determine that?

Why does Windows 11 require higher-end hardware that’s more expensive than what we have?

My guess is that the OS needs that extra horsepower for MORE bloatware and surveillance software.

I’m honesty getting frustrated with the local tech support. I had annoying experiences with them in the past such as long wait times and ordering the wrong router multiple times.

I truly believe that tech support is filled with people who are all tech but no empathy and competence. Isn’t delivering good customer a crucial part of IT support?

Everywhere I walk, people seem to be carefree or apathetic to everyone else around them, especially towards those who look and behave outside of the norm.

When they made a mistake, they rarely say ‘excuse me’ or ‘sorry’. And sometimes people look at me weird and mock me afterwords.

Too many people are like this regardless of race or gender. This is one of the factors preventing major change because so many people are outright selfish.

All my life I’ve been drinking tea from British or NA brands such as green tea or chai because my family brings them all the time. But since I’ve been drinking more authentic tea, I didn’t want to consume those awful brands ever again. The Tetley green tea in particular tasted too bitter in comparison and I regretted it.

Meta won’t stop until they have EVERY human on the planet ‘connected’ with their platforms and systems, simply because they want to extract all human data in existence like parasites for the highest profit possible.

Every time I hear the phrase ‘connecting people’ from Zuck or other execs, my body cringes. It sounds very sinister.

intelgraphy, to gaming
@intelgraphy@hachyderm.io avatar

I keep wondering about how much excessive energy hardcore gaming Twitch streamers are using during their streams when they play demanding games via high-end PCs...

Imagine, playing games that require fast performance or high-end graphics which consumes a significant amount of energy, combined with streaming which is usually about 1080p 60fps (or even up to 4k). That would likely amount to tons of energy requirements to do both in the span of HOURS.
