Every now and then I hear conversations from outside of here about "the state of social media" and let me tell you: People are suffering. People are miserable. Many people feel addicted to social media but unable to have positive and valuable interactions in the space. Mostly, in the profit-driven social media space negative emotional reactions glue eyeballs as well as positive, so a heap of the experiences is just ... unpleasant.

Meanwhile around here things are different.

I was rummaging through old photos and found this testimony of how I started (and then got hooked on) #VisibleMending. Moths had eaten holes in my favourite jumper. I was furious and swore revenge with a needle. Since I couldn't embroider properly or be accurate, I "needle-painted" yarn moths. Today, everyone thinks the jumper is an expensive designer piece. 🤭

O repaired the holes and stitched intuitively on other places, too, to make the jumper more joyful. Here in pink.
Sometimes I embroidered rough curves between the holes like the flight trajectories of moths in a comic. Here in bright yellow.

I just came home from a walk. You can see nearly all #flowers bloom at the moment. Flowers that are normal in mid-April, flowers from early May and late May. All at once. I never experienced this in my whole life (and never this loss of insects and bird species).

Even the blackberries develop flower buttons having not yet all leaves. The weather: days with 25°C and more, then nearly frost and storm between.

Das "Roadmovie" mit Wüstentrip wirkt fast aus der Zeit gefallen und exotisch, obwohl 2022 gedreht. Kaum zu glauben, dass solch ein poetischer, zutiefst menschlicher Film einer schräg-schönen Kulturannäherung in den heutigen Tagen möglich ist. Solange es Menschen gibt, die solche Filme machen, besteht Hoffnung, dass die Welt nicht völlig verroht. Er lässt atmen, erinnert uns, nicht auch zu verrohen. Menschlichkeit ist Zukunft.
