The time had come for me to push aerospace engineering to the next level.

More'll follow today. Gotta go out for a walk now, to maintain the body of a 25-year-old. 🤡

Boeing Starliner launch from Cape Canaveral scrubbed for tonight. Not unusual for a manned space flight -- better safe than sorry, always.

American mathematician and aerospace engineer Mary Jackson died in 2005.

In 1951 she started working at the National Advisory Committee for Aeronautics (NACA), where she was a member of its West Area Computing unit and Jackson’s supervisor was Dorothy Vaughan. Despite early promotions, she was denied management-level positions, and in 1979 she left engineering and took a demotion to become manager of the women’s program at NASA.

For all the disparagement of the way of doing (especially from international organisations based in the USA), what we can see in the sector is that are now the dominant manufacturer.... especially now that 's longer term problems have been compounded by their difficulties.

[And before you say, ah yes by Airbus get masses of state aid, so does, albeit in different form, Boeing]

Chart: Boeing loses market share to its rival Airbus. Market share of large single-aisle aircraft (% firm order backlog). Shows Boeing with more market share than Airbus until 1998, but then Airbus slowly but surely increase it share above Boeing, to the point where the share is currently 60/40 in favour of Airbus

These issues with Boeing planes are becoming the norm. I've had multiple flights delayed or planes swapped due to things found before and after boarding.

Secretary Antony Blinken’s Boeing 737 out of Davos had a critical failure. He had to switch planes
