Too many are living lives estranged from their families (or certain family members). One of the most painful rejections is to be shunned because of who you are and/or who you love. My heart goes out to all of those hurting this time of year...May you find "family" that celebrates you!
Hi, my name is Samantha me and my mother Sharon are being evicted from our apartment of 21 years, we have a hole in our ceiling leaking water from the toilet onto our kitchen table , coffin flies coming up our drain from a sewage backup in the basement the landlord refused to clean up, the flies get into all of our food . As a former retail worker, I know how hard the Christmas season is. People are rushed, rude, stressed, and tend to take it out on those who ring up their sales or help them find the right size sweater for Aunt Judy.
Just once, be kind to a retail worker. Be patient. They sometimes endure the worst of human behavior for little pay, and they don't exist to become whipping posts for your frustrations.
If you can't be kind, then at least be patient. They're doing the best they can, just like you.💜

Bartenders take a big hit this time of year, also.
So many regulars experience depression because they have family death anniversaries or other trauma they associate with the holidays. Their drinking and emotions escalate, putting bartenders in the tough spot of wanting to show sympathy/empathy to some of their most valued customers but also having to reign them in to prevent their self-destruction.
Some customers appreciate the extra care, some fly off into a rage.
Please show some extra kindness if you have a holiday drink at your local watering hole. Your bartender/server may be experiencing stress because a patron they care for shows signs of self-destruct mode.
Happy Friday. Have a great weekend and take care. Be kind, in fact, be extra kind.
This is a rough time of year for a lot of people. Not everyone has family to turn to. Some people are alone. Give someone a smile today.

This popped up in my memories from 3 years ago. A short story with a few of my favorite things: pursuing dreams, running, importance of place, talking to strangers, kindness, serendipity helped out by one’s own actions. 💕 #kindness#dreams#running#nyc#AmericanDream
