This is so ridiculous, but I am not making it up: #Facebook#censored my post about an illegal raid on the Marion County Record because, apparently, the same site wrote a story critical of #Meta due to.... #censorship of posts about climate change.
"We have to say that all the information that we report to you is subject to #censorship by the Israeli army. We must say there are wounded soldiers that arrived here but we are not allowed to talk about them unless this is approved."
I just had two posts #censored from mastodon.social. I will never know the real reason, but both were just the longest possible sequence of tags, to reach and be visible to a large audience. I suspect what ticked the hammer off were tags referring to "prohibited" substances. namely #thc#weed#marijuana#LSD#acid#tryptamine#hallucinogenic. the posts were deleted without informing me even though I was also using tags such as "moderation" and "noalcohol" in the same post. why is it forbidden to talk positively about these blissful compounds that nature gifts us, while hyperconsumption of #alcohol, #nicotine and #coffee is normalized and even encouraged, and the elite is allowed to indulge unquestioned, including #public#officials?
After 2 years in detention, a #Chinese#journalist active in the #MeToo movement will go on trial this week, along with a #LaborRights activist who was #detained with her in 2021, one of their supporters said.
Pixelfed.social just blocked hours of work I did uploading academic book chapters on sexuality from authors such as Camille Paglia, Michel Foucault, and a range of others. It took hours to upload them and make collections.
Pixelfed.social admins ARE BANNING BOOKS!
And no communication from them whatsoever, of course.
I have been banned and censored by TikTok, libeled by influencers in the publishing world with lies, dishonored and smeared when I won an award for my creative work, and have had armies of assholes delete all references to me and my work on Wikipedia. A major corporate media company even stole the name and the logo of a creative project I have put years of my life into.
And yet I keep returning like a stubborn phoenix.
Will there ever come a time in which I get a modicum of respect? Probably not. But at least I tell the truth and I live and create entirely on my own terms. And that's worth more than all the fame and influence in the world.
I'm sure there are many people, far smarter and more talented than I am, who are in the same boat. Try to throw the troublemakers and the misfits a bone now and then. I always do.
Transpose my head alone into an eighth of the screen, with violent, uncensored death scenes from games and horror movies playing in the main frame. It's perfect!
Love that Dr Pimple Popper can literally show oozing pustules in her #YouTube thumbnails, but I can't show my heinous female nipples, even if I pixelate them into incomprehensible blurs. 🙃
Just the name Dr #PimplePopper makes me want to 🤮, let alone have thumbnails SHOWING burst #pimples show up in my feed, yet repeatedly I've had #YouTube ban thumbnails of pre- #censored nonsexual female nipples, even when I've already blurred them out (to say nothing of the entire pre- censored videos they've banned over and over again). Yet of course, YouTube, along with #tiktok#Instagram#facebook etc-forever are chock full of entirely UNcensored MALE nipples with MILLIONS of views, that somehow DON'T get #banned as sexually explicit nudity" 🙃
I know I'm a broken record about this, but how does this make sense?? How tf do the majority of people, even alleged #progressive#leftists just unthinkingly go along with the #patriarchal#sexist#misogynistic view that "of course, female nipples are sexually explicit nudity, but male nipples aren't. OBVIOUSLY."? or at most, they go "yeah it's not fair, but what can we do?"
Maybe... Mention it in your own content? Spare comments in the replies of my own posts about this are certainly appreciated, and better than no words of support at all. But we will NEVER make progress towards #genderEquality as long as more people aren't pointing out blatant sexism (and #transphobia - at what point does a nipple look "female" or "male" enough to get banned/not banned?) in public places, loud and unapologetic. I know compared to many world issues, wanting the same rights as "male-looking chests" online and in public seems silly and self-serving. But it's all part of the subjugation of female-presenting people. It's still #techBro#thePatriarchy - designed #algorithms declaring "only we have the authority to decide women's bodies are sexually explicit unless they adhere to what we, the men, decide are permissible modes of living." It's #rapeCulture, its the objectification of women's bodies without our #consent, it's taking away our #bodilyAutonomy while granting male bodies (again, adhering to whatever arbitrary scale determines what a "male" or "female" body is) freedom. It's BS.
I have NO interest in having my every day whatever-posts on my main #fediverse accounts opened up to the exclusively #meta#threads users (I've hated #facebook for way longer than it's been en vogue)
But I would b free curious to see some smaller servers opened with the INTENT of posts being open to threads, to try to encourage basic users to see the kinds of (non-nazi) content by limiting themselves to meta's platforms. Specifically, figure out how to let them know my #freethenipple videos exist, beyond putting up super-pre- #censored posts on existing centralized platforms that go "if you're curious about this video, type in this link* to see it uncensored on my #peertube account!" that will just get #banned and #shadowbanned anyway (see https://www.toplesstopics.org/banned for hundreds of screenshots of proof)
*I have to break the hyperlinks to my own website, aka" go to toplesstopics(dot)org to see my videos" rather than "go to toplesstopics.org" or #YouTube will hit me with yet another strike for "linking to porn"... On my own website... Merely for having "female looking nipples" visible in my topic-based vlogs and interviews. Hence the whole need to highlight the hypocrisy of gender-based censorship, aka #toplessEquality
But back to meta/threads/etc, is that even possible? I'm one of the ten people on mastodon who joined before the November Twitter exodus who isn't a programmer (lol) so I barely understand what "activitypub" etc means, but until something like a server that allows all nipples, not just male nipples, to be visible-but NOT porn, which is currently my only option for posting my content outside of mastodon, where more than ten people might find it--gets specifically defederated by meta, is there a chance threads users might stumble onto, or dare I even hope, SHARE a post about one of my videos to other threads users?
I mean, I don't have the resources or knowledge to start my own instance, and I would much rather the instances I'm already on not federate with meta so that all my past posts suddenly become viewable to those who refuse to try out non-Facebook platforms. But a new instance that's specifically intended to federate with and prosletyze to "the plebs" who have remained unreachable so far.
I just can't imagine meta not immediately defederating from anything like my content, though. So why they even say they want to federate in the first place doesn't make sense to me. Why would they want to connect with sources of posts they can't control?
it'll never stop being wild to me how many people reply to my hundreds of bans of already #censored#freethenipple#genderEquality I've accrued over the last decade with "well actually this other person posts stuff that's way worse and doesn't get banned, so these platforms won't ban you." I HAVE, AS COMMON SLANG GOES, "THE RECEIPTS"!!!
