I was listening to various countertenors this week as I love Purcell. A countertenor is a male singer who can sing as high as a soprano or mezzo-soprano. The countertenor is the rarest of all voice types, and it's magical.
This week in #music, I went down a rabbit hole with baroque and choral music again. (My taste is very eclectic if you haven't gathered already). First of all, here is Hymn to the Dawn from the Rig Veda by Gustav Holst.
#news "Trump’s legal woes have now set him back by more than $500m – how will he pay?"
So Trump has three options: He raises the money (with cash on hand plus funds raised from loans on his properties) and pays the $500M. Or raises the money (ditto) and gets a $500M surety bond to start an appeal. Or he will probably lose most of his profitable properties that will be seized by foreclosures. Sophie’s Choice.
Good morning everyone, I hope the weekend is treating you well. So far I've washed 3 dogs and myself so I've accomplished something. I think we're heading to the St Louis Zoo today, should be fun. Dies anyone else have an adventure planned for the weekend?
We had our first quiet Saturday in a long time. This afternoon we made some time for art and creativity! @dohappybelove did the watercolor painting and @seanbala made a long-stitch book. The inside of Sean's book was made from an old calendar that we had lying around.
Post your piano-only music recommendations if you got 'em. I'd prefer something lesser known but it doesn't matter what era or source that it comes from.
I'll start, here's a contemplative piece that I discovered somewhat recently. The KPM music library is a treasure trove but I didn't expect to come across something like this among the smooth jazz and new age stuff. Perfect for a relaxed Saturday morning while drinking coffee!
