I don't resile from that judgement, but some posts from @pixelcats expressive of her generosity of spirit reminded me that I need to take care not to be a curmudgeon:
WARNING: Do NOT buy shoes from IMAURRKS. I ordered 3 pairs of shoes, it took 4 weeks to get them, they're at least 2 sizes too small, they made 0 offers to replace them, and only offered a 40% refund.
9.37 miles easy run @ #SVT, also testing another pair of #shoes: ASICS Gel-Nimbus 25. Result is not good: the lateral side of my right foot hurts after the run (not during)! I blame it on the high stack of cushioning: my theory is my natural reflex to counterbalance the unevenness of the trail surface is interfered/distorted by the cushioning. Does that sound plausible?

ASICS Trabuco Max 2 (photo 2): the middle in weight (~290g), not waterproof. Bouncy w/ rocker design.
Salomon Speedcross 5 (photo 3): the heaviest (~295g), waterproof(?). Big lugs.
My favorite #boots: jika tabi popular with construction workers in #Japan that I modified with tanker boot straps and rechargeable LED lights on the heels. Keeps me visible walking or biking around traffic.
I made an orange version of my "mag boot" lights inspired by #TheExpanse for visibility when walking around traffic. Might also be useful when on a bike. Thoughts?

Crocs used to just be beloved of gardeners and dads with plantar fasciitis. But over the past few years it's also been collaborating with some interesting brands and individuals, including 7-Eleven, Lil Nas X, Balenciaga, and KFC (the last of which had Croc charms that smelled like chicken drumsticks). The latest hookup is with Pringles for a collection that comprises Classic Clogs, Slides, and an ankle-high boot with a holster to store a pack of Croc-Tail Party-flavored Pringles (watermelon, chilli and lime). New running shoes! My old ones have been in use for ~2,000 kms/pair. So these are the Brooks Ghost Max and Asics Gel-Cumulus 26. The latter ones feel like walking on clouds… #Running#shoes#asics#brooks

I'm currently really really enjoying windowshopping Carmina, Grant Stone, Loake, and Church's.
It's really nice because I have the money saved where I could pull the trigger if I wanted to. But I'm not. Those savings are earmarked for other things.
But it's really nice to be able to just look at the beautiful things people are making and enjoying. And then check ebay occasionally.
...but really I want the Grant Stone Coral Loafers.
The cheap $36 knockoff minimal trail runners I’ve been using just crossed 1,000 miles. The knit upper is the same as day one. No wear through at the toe joint on either side like other trail runner uppers. 🤯
Most wear is on the outsole where they’ll likely fail first. These would be unstoppable with a Vibram outsole, 3 thousand miles easy.
This winter I used 6mm wool felt insoles with them providing good thermal insulation. Trying cork this summer.
