I'm currently trying to weasel out of a project I really don't want to be involved in.

According to The Simpsons, "Weaseling out of things is what separates us from the animals... Except the weasel." 😉

A weasel popping out of the ground with a caption saying weasel time.

Happy Tuesday

How are we all doing today and what do we each have planned for the day today?

For me, it's the usual work stuff with a meeting at 12pm EST, and then Google I/O is at 1pm EST so I'll certainly be tuning into that.

After that, it's just more work stuff and then maybe I'll check out the new season of Diablo IV that starts today.

How do you incentivize workers? One company in Japan thinks they've found the answer: subsidized steak at the corporate cafeteria. Metal parts Castem offers bottomless steak bowls for just 190 yen (USD $1.22).

So, I recently purchased the newest Sofi Tukker song and downloaded it onto my computer to listen to at work.

I forgot about it when I opened my file explorer. My recent files list looked as follows:
Quarterly Sampling Report
Compliance Task List
01 - Throw Some Ass
NPDES Permit Tracker
Development Update

One of these things is not like the others.

It’s scheduled for 2am my time.

How about you navigate that conflict first?

My two cents on how will change our in the future. It will not make us better, it will reduce the quality of our work. Because people are lazy and AI is not that smart and creative yet. People will try to "outsource" their work to algorithms and accept the mediocre results.

We recently talked about a free personal time tracking app that we are preparing for release. And very soon we'll share it with all of you. Visually it is mega simple. No complicated dashboards with a bunch of different colors. Only the most important and very functional. We hope this is one of those "as nature intended".

Until then, here are the first screenshots with the task list and timer list. In a light and dark theme to taste.

I had a horrifying nightmare last night.

I was back at my first job at iRobot. Some manager I currently follow on linked in last night had re-hired me.
I was excited to just make money again.
Howerver, I didn’t go to work on my second day because of burnout/depression.
I didn’t go to work on my third day because of the anxiety caused by not letting my employer know what was going on.

On the 4th day I went to work. They mocked my apology when I finally talked to them. While I was gone, manager and his friend coworker stormed the corporate housing I was staying at and put all my stuff on the street. They kicked me out and kept mocking me…

The end

Why does it sound like it could have happened in real life?

Happy Friday to all of you here in the today!

What is on your agenda for the day and for the weekend ahead?

For me, the wife and I are going to a special Winston Salem Dash baseball game tonight. It's our first one. They are the A team for the Chicago White Sox. Hoping to have a great time tonight.

Not much else planned outside of work stuff for a bit today and the weekend we don't have anything planned as of yet.
