BRITT BILL WOULD CREATE FEDERAL DATABASE TRACKING PREGNANCIES
Alabama Senator Katie Britt, best known for delivering a bizarre, melodramatic televised response to President Biden's 2024 State of the Union address, has introduced a bill to create a federal website to collect data on pregnant people.
The bill, the More Opportunities for Moms to Succeed Act (MOMS Act), would mandate the creation of a federal website called Pregnancy.gov, which Britt calls a "clearinghouse of relevant resources available for pregnant and postpartum women, and women parenting young children."
The database would refer users to so-called "crisis pregnancy centers"; fake clinics that do not actually provide women with healthcare, but rather use deception and coercion to scare women away from getting an abortion, even if it necessary for their own health.
From the Republican perspective, this election is not actually about policy or governance. It's about the GOP's project to change the American form of government from democracy to autocracy.

We need a lot of more juvenile journalists who have the courage to single out criminals such as #TFG before nazis get the nuclear codes, because the serious and adult-like idiots who are too respectful of mass murderers and criminals are driving us straight into fascism every single time.
When the U.S. Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade in June 2022, they didn’t just eviscerate federal protections for abortion access – they opened the door to completely undermining a number of our most personal rights and freedoms that were constructed on the same legal precedent as Roe. Now Republican state legislators are going after IVF, contraception, trans health care, same-sex marriage, and more.
This isn’t news.
They’re following/co-opting prohibitions that have existed within Catholic dogma forever.
EVERYTHING is forbidden outside of heterosexual marriage — no contraception use, no sterilization procedures, no surrogacy, no abortion, no divorce/remarriage, no stem cell therapy, no fertility treatments with IVF, no LGBTQIA sex or intimate cohabitating relationships, no adoptions, no acceptance in the wider community or employment by a religious institution, no trans healthcare or acceptance, etc.
ALL OF THIS will be the subject of morality legislation in the near future because ALL OF THIS has been defined & promulgated by those determined to remain in 13th century “morality.”
@YusufToropov I just got off two flights, both dreamliners. One had no issues. The other shut down two bathrooms 1.5 hrs into a 15 hour flight. A "blowout" of another type... and no less an emergency.
Recently in Alabama, the Republican legislature refused to comply with a federal judge’s order to create fair voting maps that better represented Black voters. It had to be enforced by court order.

Ukrainians are fighting for their existence. On territory that Russia occupies, it tortures Ukrainian citizens, kidnaps Ukrainian children and murders Ukrainian leaders. On territory Russia can reach with its weapons, it strikes civilians and rescue workers.
Russian leaders say openly that their goal is the destruction of the Ukrainian state and the elimination of Ukrainians as a people. Russian propagandists threaten genocide almost every day. Right now, #Russia is using missiles and glide bombs to destroy the ancient and beautiful city of Kharkiv, once home to 1.5 million people, just as Russia destroyed Mariupol, Aleppo and Grozny.
If Russia breaks through, this will be our fault. And then we will understand what we have lost. Everything that Ukraine is doing for us can be reversed. If Ukraine is defeated, we will find ourselves in a far more dangerous world. It will be a world where we can expect war in Europe and war in Asia. A world in which Russia can cut off the food to the Near East and Africa that Ukraine now supplies.
