“If they can do this to him, they can do it to anyone!”. Yes! That’s how it works. The law is supposed to apply to everyone. If you break the law, as the former guy is alleged to have done, you should in fact be charged and face trial. Being a famous douchebag doesn’t absolve someone of responsibility.

For decades, the U.S. exported jobs and imported products, while other countries surpassed us in critical sectors like infrastructure, clean energy, semiconductors, and biotechnology. Thanks to President Biden’s Investing in America Agenda – including historic legislation passed by Congress and signed into law by President Biden such as the American Rescue Plan, Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, CHIPS and Science Act, and Inflation Reduction Act – that is changing.

President Biden’s Investing in America agenda is mobilizing historic levels of private sector investments in the United States, bringing manufacturing back to America after decades of offshoring, and creating new, good-paying jobs, including union jobs and jobs that don’t require a college degree. His Investing in America agenda is rebuilding our roads and bridges using Made in America materials, built by American workers. And it’s transforming our country for the better – reaching...

Let me get this straight. Republicans are banning books, drag shows, and life-saving gender-affirming care, all to "protect children"

But they're also rolling back child labor laws, blocking gun reform, and passing laws to force adolescents to give birth.

    Do I have that right?

    Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson 🔥

    Slate:
Jackson may have helped stave off disaster in a handful of key cases, steering the court away from hard-right results through tactical deployment of originalist and textualist arguments. Unlike Breyer, she expertly wielded the conservatives’ own tools against them. She spoke the language of the right to promote left-leaning principles. And from time to time, she beat the 6–3 supermajority at its own game.

I was born in Houston and lived in it, or just outside of it, for most of my life. 35 years. I’m HORRIFIED— but people need to know:

Houston is NOT doing this. The state of Texas took over the Houston Independent School District some months ago, appointed its own superintendent, and he is the monster doing this shit. The city is against this bullshit.

The state of TEXAS is going after MY CITY. They’ve been winning too many damn elections for the “wrong” candidates and they don’t like it. They’re scared. The bulk of Dem votes come from Houston. Look at the numbers.

"Here’s where old school journalistic norms collide with objective reality. Too many journalists still wrongly believe their goal should be “balance.” It shouldn’t. It should be objectivity. If something is untrue, the press needs to say so, in clear language, even if one partisan group wrongly believes the lie to be true."

    Canadian Wildfire Crisis July 29 🇨🇦 🔥

South Korean Fire Fighters find shocking 🇨🇦 fires are difficult to extinguish.

"None of us believed it at first. But putting out fires here, 👉 we saw how the fires are burning through the roots of the trees,"👈 said Jang Puruensol, a 28-year-old firefighter.

"We're used to going several kilometres, putting out fires as we go"

Jang says Quebec's forest fire prevention agency warned them they'd only be able to advance around 600 metres in a day.

All life in the solar system, all life in the galaxy, all life that we have even a HINT about is contained in a thin coating on a dead rock hanging in space.

The thickness of a coat of paint on a basketball. That's us. Mostly water and gas. Thin, fragile, self supporting in complexity.

He is saying the people have no authority over an oligarchy
