'Russell told the dispatcher that she was near mile marker 11 when she saw a toddler walking alone on the side of I-459.

After calling 911, Russell stopped to check on the child and called a family member. The family member lost contact with her, but the line remained open.'

Significant localized here in West following 10+" (254mm) of rainfall over the past 6 hours. This prodigious rainfall caused the Sucarnoochee River to rise by more than 12 feet in a short period of time. I59/20 was bisected by flooding.

Could a battery production boom change the American South’s views of green energy?

The Christian Science Monitor reports: "Alabama could be the buckle of a new manufacturing 'battery belt' across the South. The economic activity is putting green energy in a new light."

If a foreigner attempts to sabotage the U.S. military, he is a terrorist. If an American tries to sabotage the U.S. military then he is a domestic terrorist. Tuberville, this failed coach, failed Alabamian, failed man who never served a day in uniform, is a domestic terrorist!

Joyce Vance looks at what Alabama Republican senator Turbeville is doing, holding up more than 250 military promotions and, as of yesterday, causing the Marines to be without a Senate-confirmed commandant. Tuberville opposes the military's policy permitting enlistees to access reproductive health care of ouf state when necessary.

Republicans as a party supporting the military? Hardly, she concludes.

"That a Republican is undermining the military belies the party’s traditional claim to be stronger on military issues than the Democrats. So does the attack of House Republicans on our nation’s key law enforcement entities—the Department of Justice and the Federal Bureau of Investigation—after traditionally insisting their party works to defend 'law and order.'”

Pulpit Rock Sunset

The Pulpit Rock at Cheaha State Park provides one of the best views in Alabama. Cheaha is a Creek Indian word meaning high place, which is fitting being that Cheaha Mountain is highest point in AL.

As my spouse and I ran errands today, she wore a “Protect Trans Kids” t-shirt and I wore a “Trans Rights are Human Rights” ball cap. We catch people staring often, but today one cashier told us they loved our shirt and hat. While we ate lunch, someone came to our table, apologized for interrupting, and complimented our shirt and hat. Putting this out there for those overwhelmed by the ugliness and need a boost, that you have allies and advocates. Maybe more than you know.

I brought two of these “Protect Youth” shirts to give away at my birthday party 🏳️‍⚧️ 🥳

(It’s fun to give presents at your party 🎁)

They were very popular and folks took the address to get more

It’s the Green Pea Press in . Solid links to local groups, including the artist if you want to donate directly ❤️‍🔥

I sent the artist $15 because this is the most ✊🏾

Via Democracy Docket:

NEW: 5th Circuit asks parties in a case challenging 's congressional map to submit briefs addressing ' recent ruling in a similar case over 's congressional map, which requires Alabama to add a second majority-Black district.

On Monday, SC reinstated order blocking Louisiana's congressional map & sent the case back to the 5th Circuit. This paves the way for Louisiana to add a second majority-Black district as well.
