Must delete Google.

I am nearly ready to delete my Google Account. The 1 thing taking forever is changing my e-mail address on all my many accounts.

Google's new Terms of Service, you agree Google AI may access all your content (email, photos, etc.). While they do not claim ownership of your content, you agree they can use it.

Leave Google now and help others doing the same by:

  1. Switching #Duckduckgo or #Kagi (using !g if Google is really needed)

  2. Creating an email account on one of the many ethical alternative while asking gmail to redirect all email received.

  3. Trying @organicmaps and adding your business information on OpenStreetMaps (opening hours, etc)

  4. Creating a @peertube account on an instance and uploading your videos there

All those steps can be achieved by yourself, alone!

I use @organicmaps to navigate and @streetcomplete to help improve the maps. I love them both. 💗

Thanks for being awesome guys.

So Google paid 60M/year to use your Reddit posts to train its AI. If you don't want that, you can use this PowerDeleteSuite bookmarklet to mass-delete all your Reddit posts and comments anonymously. It's easy (and it still works):

Today I "converted" one of my clients from using Google Analytics to privacy-friendly Plausible.io, made by the excellent guys at @plausible.

It took me quite an effort to convince them to do that, but eventually I succeeded. I feel I've made the world a tiny little bit a better place.

If you still use Google Analytics for your own website, stop it right now and consider using a privacy-friendly alternative.

I'm no longer sure who it was on here, but some one recommended organic maps app as a privacy friendly alternative to Google maps, built on #openstreetmaps I've been trying it out the last 3 days and it is really brilliant. So 🙏 to whoever it was.

I've been using Fastmail on my own domain for years, and my time has been phenomenal from the initial migration to right now. Virtually unlimited email aliases, iOS push support with Mail.app (not very common these days), Bitwarden integration, macOS and iOS profiles to quickly set things up and a bunch more. Not an ad. For people trying to Degoogle, here's my referral link, which will get you 10% off your first year: https://ref.fm/u27772440

Changing your e-mail from all your many accounts online, away from Google, takes time.

Many of them may want you to confirm the change, and I do not want Google to know my new e-mail address.

I signed up for a free DuckDuckGo email forwarder

https://duckduckgo.com/email

Instructed DuckDuckGo to forward all my e-mail to my new address

I proceeded to forward all my old Gmail e-mails to my DuckDuckGo

https://mail.google.com/mail/u/0/#settings/fwdandpop

Google only sees my DuckDuckGo 😉

If I were looking to #DeGoogle my life; how do people rate (paid-for) @protonprivacy services (calendar/mail/drive)?

My main concerns are #security and #privacy.

Please ONLY share your opinions on #Proton.

If you insist on sharing other opinions, I only want to hear them if they pertain to
#FullyManaged #CloudStorage with #E2EE that is reasonably priced.

I will accept absolutely no requirement to self-host or self-maintain, no matter how 'easy' you think it is. I have money, not time.

I've found my new favorite android app, I was scrolling through F-Droid and saw canta which lets you uninstall system apps and bloat without rooting or using a separate computer. I used it to de-google my Samsung phone and remove the Samsung and Microsoft bloat. I definitely recommend trying it 😁

Hallo,

v 14 "Katjuscha" (Protagonistin in Leo Tolstois Auferstehung) (WIP)

  • fix: benutzerdefinierte URLs umleiten
  • fix: Zurück-Navigation ist fehlerhaft
  • fix: Öffnen in Standard-App
  • fix: App stürzt beim Öffnen der Einstellungen ab
  • fix: Layout-Verbesserungen
  • fix: Löschen von doppelten Lesezeichen löscht beide
  • fix: v13 Systemthema - Farben [re: 1105; 1119]
  • aktualisiert: Bibliotheken

When buying my Pixel 8 a $200 pair of ear buds was added as a bonus. What a nice thing to have. These however was not included, you had to redeem them from a Google webpage. And you guessed it, it was a trap. Google requested not only receipt, name, and address, but also phone number and the phone's IMEI (with a photo proof)! So keep your earbuds Google and I keep my personal info.

And no I'm not running stock os with Google Play Services.
