Thinking about a convo @chrisphin kicked off (kicked off my a response I made$ about best-in-class products. I can’t think of any product class other than the iPad that has utterly defined/decimated the entire category, potentially to its own peril. I think iPad sales would be higher if iPad had any competition. But effectively it doesn’t. You have sub $200 Fire Tabs for children and you have iPads. That is it. That’s the whole market.
I spent hours taking photos and pixel peeping to compare the cameras on Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra and iPhone 14 Pro. Both can take good shots. There's no clear winner, but there are many points where one or the other does better.
Two takeaways: iPhone 3x telephoto limit is weaksauce & Samsung overprocessing makes me wince.

My latest video review covers off the #Samsung#GalaxyS23Plus. It's cheaper now than when it launched, and that's great... but is it good value? I'm not convinced.
I updated my #Samsung S21 yesterday to #Android 13 and #OneUI 5.1, and it wiped all of my data from all of my Mastodon apps, weirdest thing, no other apps were touched. Don't know whether it is how #Moshidon and #Megalodon store data and they are forks of each other. So just beware when you update to have your login information.
Diablo Immortal has some of the most beautiful loading screen art I've ever seen in a game. The other Diablo games do too in some ways, but these are just BEAUTIFUL.
Also, the game is free to play, which is cool, and it doesn't have in-game ads or anything. I feel like it's the most fun, immersive mobile rpg I've ever played. You'll need a strong phone to run it, though. It's big and resource heavy. I have a new Samsung S21, these are screenshots from that. My old Samsung S7 could NEVER have run this properly.

lol if you try to create a #Samsung account with the string “samsung” in the email address, it will straight up tell you that it “contains a banned word”.
Not only have I now broken my #Verizon streak (since 2007!), but it also broke my #Samsung streak (since the Galaxy S7). I got an #Asus#Zenfone9, one of the last higher-end smartphones to still have a real headphone jack!
Does any of you #linux#kernel or @postmarketOS people have any idea what's going on with my #samsung#tablet when I enable #hardware#acceleration in @firefox? It seems like it renders the first few bits of text towards the top and then just stops. It works fine without hardware acceleration, but it's so much smoother with it.
