Once upon a time, there was a community called Little Details on LiveJournal. It was a place where fiction writers of all kinds could ask for help with their fact-checking and research. It was a huge, amazing resource before the collapse of LiveJournal took it down.
I recently decided to try resurrecting it on Dreamwidth. It's now open and ready for questions. Come check it out, and boost if you're so inclined!
The Hollow Knight wiki moved away from Fandom yesterday, congratulations from us!
If you're wondering what's wrong with Fandom and why so many wikis are moving away recently, Hollow Knight YouTuber mossbag made an excellent and in-depth video about the topic: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qcfuA_UAz3I
Even if you are not on blorbo.social, but have a fandom account, this short post about tagging and wrapping your posts is worth reading. It contains examples on how to make your CWs informative enough so that people know what to expect when they open it to see more.
If your CW is only “NSFW”, that’s like tagging your fanfic as “dead dove” but not adding any of the tags that tell what sort of dead dove it is.
A Sketchy Proposal, Or How Fans Hide In Plain Sight: Lauren Orsini recalls a sketchy-sounding partnership pitch, and how it played into the fact that most people don't realize that anime fans are pretty much everywhere, in all age groups, even those beyond the typical 18-25 demographic.
#introduction
Hi! I'm Anna, nice to meet you!
Always open to chat about #podfic, #fanfic and #fandom in general. I'm currently mostly into kpop but I'll keep you updated.

we as #furries should be working to elevate #bipoc voices both within and outside of the fandom regarding peoples lived experiences because they also affect us but they affect others who are a part of these intersectional experiences in a way worse way.
Since the #reddit rebellion has been quashed and things have gotten quiet. I have been tossing around the idea of setting up a #lemmy#instance for #Fandom to share links and stuff like the old days of reddit.
It includes links to guides on making your own fic archive, finding other archives, using Dreamwidth communities for fic sharing and discovery, and tools to download and save fics as ebooks.
(It also reminds me I still need to finish that webring script . . .)
#Save campaigns are fan-led digital efforts to reverse the cancellation of favorite TV series. They've been instrumental in bringing shows like "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" and "Lucifer" back from the brink. The campaigns are getting more expensive and elaborate, but according to Paste magazine they are unlikely to work, and can be exploitative of fandoms. Here's their thoughtful feature on the subject.
So, this can't be right. Samantha has a new article... and it's not a con write-up.
Anyway! She goes deep into US fandom history, with a new article that explores the earliest days of fandom and one of the first anime zines, Fanta's Zine.
Looking Back at Anime-Zine with Robert Fenelon - Red Bard talks with founding fan and head of early anime magazine Anime-Zine about his experiences in fandom, his work in the anime community, and more.
For the Stizzy zine I got to make a print! I thought it fitting to post it during Stizzy week <3
