Ooh, just checked the new(?) #Peertube search – https://joinpeertube.org/browse-content. It's surprisingly fast and has a nice UI. Searching for "CiviCRM" (no hashtag needed) it brought up 69 videos, 2 channels and 4 playlists, in under a second.
Most people following accounts on the Fediverse's video and audio platform PeerTube are actually on different Fediverse platforms like Mastodon etc. They will see your uploads in their Home timelines on Mastodon etc, in chronological order mixed in with all the non-PeerTube posts.
If you're a publisher on PeerTube, it's probably a good idea to avoid massive batch uploads, so you're not suddenly flooding your followers' timelines with videos/episodes.
I really want to see #PeerTube succeed. But I don't see many videos slide across my #mastodon feed. It feels like PeerTube videos don't achieve wide federation.
I think this is because people don't follow as many PeerTube accounts and because PeerTube accounts don't post as often as Mastodon or other microblogging accounts.
Consider this... there isn't much downside to following all PeerTube accounts that you come across and boosting their posts because they are few and infrequent.
I've reformatted it to be a "one stop shop" for anyone curious about PeerTube, with useful non-technical info alongside safe interesting content. Channels are curated through an allowlist, so people won't see any nasty stuff.

In this week’s #Linux and #OpenSource news video, we have the EU forcing #Microsoft to open #Windows a bit, we have AMD teasing some Open Source stuff, and a nice roadmap for #Peertube, with pretty great improvements and a mobile app!
We have planned a full review to support #Pixelfed as much as possible.
The idea is to support Pixelfed as a separated software like we already do for #Peertube.
This means to support all dedicated features with a dedicated layout.
PeerTube is a fantastic project. But its UI is designed around people creating "channels" for publishing video regularly to an audience, as a lot of people do on ThemTube. A lot of the PeerTube UI assumptions don't make sense if what you want is a video library, more like Vimeo. A dedicated host for videos (and other bulky media files) to be embedded elsewhere, or just shared within a group.
Does anyone know an actively maintained free code project designed for that?

Important Message for #Peertube admins:
If you have updated your instance to Peertube 6.1.0, and if you use the livechat plugin (any version above 6.3.0), the federation is broken: your server won't be able to send any video update.
This is due to new data validation in Peertube v6.1.0, and insufficient data type declaration in the plugin.
This is fixed in livechat v9.0.2, that i just published. You should update as soon as possible.
