If you used the internet in the US in the early 90s, your traffic was handled by Trans Witches! (A TRANSWITCH chip was part of every interface board on the NSFnet's experimental T3 routers.)
Halloween: a day when we get it right.
Strangers come to us,
beautiful, ugly, odd or scary,
and we accept them all without question,
compliment them, treat them kindly,
and give them good things.
In 2019 I made a bathtub costume for my son, to fit over his wheelchair. We called it the Bathmobile, because it had working headlights and a license plate. It's made from discarded cardboard (a wardrobe box turns out to be the perfect size), frappuccino lids, tap lights, scrubbers, and rubber duck from the 99-cent store, and a lot of spray paint, foil tape, and duct tape. #wheelchaircostume#costume#bathtub#bubblebath#Halloween
There are multiple definitions of “witch” across cultures over time.
But on #Halloween, this a spooky reminder that throughout history, a witch often meant a woman with opinions and an independent life persecuted by the patriarchy for not fitting in.
Last night, a group of pranksters (from the Raining Chainsaws collective) dressed up as traffic witches and cast holding spells on autonomous vehicles.
