I feel there has to be a way of training neural networks to recognise the influence of their training data on the output.

This would probably include training a complementary indexing network + database that would then ”reverse-training” resolve and offer at some predetermined accuracy the #copyright-viable sources for each generated #aiart

I need some help though. A proof would show the companies know it can be done, but they just don’t want to.

I would like mastodon.green to federate with Meta. As far as I know, them being a part of the fediverse does not pose a threat as long as they don’t control the ActivityPub protocol

They can already scrape our posts from the public internet, so nothing will change in that regard

I see them joining as a welcome step from the private sector in embracing open protocols. Hopefully the public sector will join too, leaving the private platforms

It tends to result in people who systematically look down on all ways society tries to care for the disadvantaged, even warning labels on products.

One person for example made jokes about labels on cigarette boxes, and ”SOLVENT ABUSE CAN KILL INSTANTLY” on scent dispensers in toilets. He was bright-eyed in declaring how those make people abuse the products more.

Finally, we can expect Ukraine to be able to hit Russia on an equal footing, not outgunned 5-to-1 and banned from hitting the actual supplies far outside Ukrainian borders.

When everything is subject and nothing is true, people slowly start thinking that whatever they do, it will be corrupted and won’t matter anyway.

So they stop doing anything, political talk moves ”to the kitchen” as they say.

So they keep telling how #ukraine is corrupt, and more & more people in US think it’s a smart move to avoid assistance from lining up politician’s pockets there.

@parismarx Hey Paris! I listen to your Tech Won’t Save Us regularly, but every now and then I come across unproductive ways of countering right-wing or conservative arguments and the latest episode with Julia Black had one regarding: ”Facts don’t care about feelings.”

The way you handle in the show fails at not ”walking a mile in the other’s shoes”, and you miss the obvious point that the other has already invalidated your counterargument that feelings matter.

Ok. Player of Games, Use Of Weapons and Excession are awesome too. But if any should be made into a screenplay now it would surely have to be Surface Detail

It really puts forward where #conservative values can lead, if we let a sly techie give traditionalists all the #technology in the world: They’ll just use it to enforce their hate & fear on everyone

My greatest worry about #IsraelPalestineconflict is that people could be so goddamn stupid, that they would miss the situation where a #farright movement in #israel would take power using the threat of #antisemitism.

People would miss it, because fascism is always about being violent from a fear victimhood. And we teach this wrong: we just talk nazi bad, hitler bad, but any threat that allows one to paint the outsider as a monster without humanity will do.

It’s the same even if targets change.

My view is I am not. Actually I don’t even even have a quarrel with with Israel existing.

The UN resolution that founded Israel didn’t say the Palestinians should leave. Israel made that decision all by themselves.

Having made that choice, one is fully responsible for the consequences. Including millions of people singing to have their homes back, and the sympathy for them.

I think today I’m first time dealing with #AIanxiety: My job is perfect for being replaced by AI.

Sure, it will do a much shittier job than I do, but all the problems will be in time manageable by engineering.

Sure, I will pick up new skills and become a director of AI assistants instead. I’ll get paid less and less per line of code though.

But what I do will become a curiosity. Hand-written code will still be needed when the machine does something stupid, but that will be the exception.
