Science/coastal hivemind, I need your help. We’re working on the underwater acoustics of small all-electric boats (almost certainly far less underwater noise pollution than engines). We would like to do some trials - just measuring the sound near an electric boat - but we’re struggling to find someone in (or very near) the UK who has an electric boat we could use/hire. Has anyone got any ideas or know anyone who owns an electric boat?
This just went straight into my top ten favourite boat names.
I’m in Guernsey (for the first time) to speak at their literary festival tomorrow on Blue Machine, so if you know anyone on the island, do encourage them to come along. #books#Guernsey#ocean#boats
View of the marina on Lake Monroe in Sanford, Florida. Monroe Harbor Marina on Lake Monroe is part of the St. Johns River. Ashore, Historic Downtown Sanford with its shops and historic buildings is a few blocks away.
Every Saturday a small group would go sailing in the bay where I used to live (on the Sunshine Coast of British Columbia.) I captured this image on one of those days...
This photo was taken from the dock of a seafood restaurant along the Intracoastal Waterway that has boat access for dining if you want to grab lunch or dinner. It was a bonus to catch a beautiful sunset along with a delicious meal.
A solitary green pearl farm boat gently sways on the tranquil waters of Vietnam, its emerald hue mirroring in the glassy surface below, creating a serene symphony of green and blue. In the silence, only the soft lapping of water against the boat breaks the stillness
Here's another one of my recent prints, Mevagissey Harbour, a six colour screenprint which I started editioning earlier this year.
It is from a series of photographs I took of the harbour. I did not trace it from the photograph though but redrew it and interpreted it in my own way.
It features four colours and two transparent blacks. And lots of textures and natural media elements.
Awhile ago I posted a picture of my hubby as a little boy (he is in the back seat) with his Grandpa rowing a boat on a lake...It got me thinking and painting so I could give him a special Christmas gift this year! Almost done!
Of course there were things to do; there always were, and some of them could even be listed in the "important" column.
But at the moment, nothing seemed more important than standing in the yard, overlooking the bay filled with sailboats, and just letting one's mind glide from one thought to another, as if it too were sailing on the bay.
