Activitypub or Atproto ... one item that both Mastodon have in common with Bluesky is amount of "spam" links and accounts boosting those "spammy" accounts
Several "award winning art / photo" profiles I saw had 5 or more links including their pinned post
Win goes to Bluesky since they seem to have better control of that ... for now
…I noticed that they gave shoutouts to #Mastodon & #WordPress (#Tumblr was strangely ignored) as well as credited #Misskey for their quote implementation (even #Firefish received an honorable mention).
I do wonder how many Threads users have activated ActivityPub on their account‽
What are some well-run, mid-sized mastodon instances that are allowing federation with threads? I assume masto social is, but I'd rather avoid the mothership.

Not every fediverse user want to connect to Bluesky but for those that do, you can look into using Friendica. The next release will allow you to use your Bluesky account from within Friendica. Interact with Mastodon / Msskey / Pixelfed etc and Bluesky users together on one platform
Talking about fragmented ecosystems : The χbooru imageboard system which has spawned more forks than #misskey and is curiously close to #mastodon in it's technical aspect ( #ruby, etc).
I recently remembered I had an old Misskey (Foundkey) account on a different Instance with a bunch of lame jokes just posted to it. So, since I don't use it I'm deleting it.
However, I am transferring the lame jokes over to this or my Sharkey account, @mdmrn - so if you see either of us just being the worst, know that I already did it before and I haven't changed.
I've just done a bit more testing, since my friend emma in this Raddle thread was able to confirm in her own #Postmill instance (I've tested against #Raddle too because why not) that it's a caching reverse proxy causing images to stay longer on the server. I'm able to confirm that using a query string bypasses the proxy's cache and results in the expected 404. Hooray, and I couldn't expect any better from Raddle! :ai_yay: They always take #privacy seriously. :alice_wine:
I've used this method against #Mastodon, #Pleroma, and #Misskey. The first two still returns the image I've uploaded even though I've deleted my account AND used a query string to bypass proxy cache (yikes). Misskey forcibly rewrites the URL to strip out the query string, therefore I can't conclude for 100% sure that it's a proxy's fault. But I'm still pretty confident it is the reverse proxy's doing in the case of Misskey due to the observation I mentioned earlier where the generated file URLs that never got accessed don't get cached.
Alright I'm done with this shit, #fediverse devs, do whatever with this info with mind :seija_coffee:
Potete darmi una mano, mettendo stelline a questa issue sulle anteprime dei link da messaggi Friendica?
Oppure facendovi venire qualche idea...
