🍅 One of the high points of this and any muggy summer—the tomato sandwich. Today's lunch.

Mine differs from Granny's only in the 12-grain vs. Merita white bread.

The tomato slices are cold, thick and several, and that's Duke's they'll be rubbing up against in creamy deliciousness in my mouth.

This old finally has to go. 👍

It is damaged beyond repair or usability. The protective top is regularly moved askew by wind and heavy snow, the moss thrives on the base plate. The lattice holder mount can’t be moved anymore and the whole thing is crap anyway. 🤣

So, @evelynefoerster and I decided to get a instead. It's smaller, can be put away (and protected against weather). We’ll see how that turns out. 🙃🍗🥩🍕🥗🌽

The rain protection on top is always moved askew by either wind or the snow being too heavy during the winter.
The bottom plate is the ideal place for moss to grow and flourish but not to be used as a fire place.
The old lattice holder mount is so rusty that it can’t even be moved and thus used anymore.

The second full day of our visit to was devoted to visiting , the tallest in south . This was a very nice of 15 km with some steep ascents and descents but no climbing.

Starting from the car park, a path started to climb gently upwards. You can see Pen Y Fan on the horizon near the centre of the image.

The internet has been fighting over what to call those tubes of clear plastic, filled with rainbow-colored ice in flavors that don't appear in nature (blue raspberry, anyone?). Here's a look at the online battle. What do you call them — and if your favorite name isn't on the list, comment and tell us where you're from!

Will Never Be the Same ♪

The memories of summer, at the cottage, watching the critters in the yard, having a morning coffee.

The sun so hot after sunrise, the deck is too warm, so I moved it out a bit into the breeze this year. Replace the floor with patio stones. I'm looking forward to sitting on those new patio stones next summer, and doing this again.

I'd be sitting here and suddenly a duck would appear beside me, or a skunk!

Trying to sleep at night in these hot temperatures genuinely makes me consider getting aircon installed in my house.

Expensive yes, but might be worth it in the long run considering the consistently hot summers we now get in the UK.

I’d also love to be able to game without my PC considerably raising the room temperature as well!

Share you memories. What’s the one game that you will always associate with summer?

For me it is:

As a kid my family used to spend the summer on the coast of Buenos Aires where it was FULL of arcades. And as a kid I was obsessed with that game.

What's the weather in your part of the world looking like today?

Here in Winston Salem, NC, it's going to be a decently hot day as you can see. We'll get up to about 82F, which for me is about 40 degrees way too hot!

📷 Dahlia &The Biltmores

Dahlia works at the vegetable stand where I buy tomatoes. She's almost 10 and very chill, as you can see.

Ethan, her Dad, suggested I try his Biltmore variety of tomatoes. They resemble beefsteaks in color and flavor, and some have gathered tops like many heirloom varieties.

Ethan's family grow the produce they sell and will have some variety of tomatoes through early November.

These 3 were $5.60.
