#introduction Simutrans is an open-source transportation simulator available for Linux, macOS, Windows and Android.
Simutrans is a very mature project, with 25 years under active development. We have been celebrating this year this milestone (see here for the list of events: https://forum.simutrans.com/index.php?msg=200849).
Time for my Fediverse #introduction - I'm Pavel, I write about user experience, design process as a tool for decision-making, and the broader mess of software development practices (if you've seen the roadmap picture before - that's me). I'm a big proponent of choosing methods to fit your goals rather than the other way around.
I post bad jokes and good cats, support unions, and stand against hate.
For my 5000th post, I’ll be doing an #introduction! Better later than never :)
I‘m a recent CS new grad particularly interested in topics relating to privacy, open-source, and accessibility.
I joined the Fediverse over quarantine as an “anonymous way to finally get my thoughts out”, and it’s proven to be one of my favorite places on the internet. I’m eternally grateful to those that helped me through my #LateNightBlues
Here’s to more great times with you all! :blobcathighfive:
Hi folks! I’m Ted, a games person with over a decade of #programming and #gamedesign experience who currently works at Meta giving deep dive technical and design feedback to help make games great!
I also provide mentorship, give talks, and work to help us all grow powerful together!💜
I'm also a proud #nonbinary ( #genderfluid ) #bisexual, happily married to my awesome partner @jennatar, who helps me take care of our family of 3 #cats (Jezebel, Muffin, and Lucha) and a #dog (Bobby!)
Looking forward to seeing folks' #introduction posts!
#Introduction
Hi Mastodon. I work for #OpenAccess to research in all fields and regions. Formerly directed the Harvard Office for Scholarly Communication. Now semi-retired but still working for the cause.
#Introduction time! I'm rysiek. On fedi since before it was fedi — I see you, old StatusNet guard!
Did information security and infrastructure for #PanamaPapers journalists, fought #ACTA on the streets and in meetings, helped write the book on #NetNeutrality, started a hackerspace and a half, and wrote a bunch of code.
Media literacy is a human right. Protocols, not platforms. Communities, not customers. User-Authored Works, not user-generated content.
I'm Schratze. I'm an agender person in my late 20s from Germany. I'm just about to finish my master's degree in linguistics and then become a full time ogre and live in the swamp.
I'm an intersectional anarchist. I play bass in a heavy rock band called Descentury. Check it out
In addition to all that, I post about music, birds, computers, mental health, video games and other random garbage.
I have ADHD and a bunch of issues. I'm on the aromantic spectrum. I'm not interested in flirting on here. All other interactions are welcome.
Feel free to send me a follow request. I will always follow back. However, if you have no avatar, no bio, no posts and don't even bother to @ me, I have to assume that you're a cop.
In my academic life, I do a lot of computer modeling, and I'm a big fan of #SystemsDynamics thinking. I used to hang out with the #STS folks at Harvard, which has helped shape my thinking.
Hello Everyone! I'm Sarah. Executive Director of Open Privacy (https://openprivacy.ca/) - a Canadian non-profit society dedicated to researching & building privacy enhancing tools (like https://cwtch.im) that empower people.
I spend most of my days conducting #cryptography and #privacy research, and a fair amount of time disclosing security issues in a variety of systems.
I'm a geeky developer from The Netherlands, residing in the northern part.
My toots are usually about coffee, programming, foss, vegetarian food or mental health issues.
In my spare time I write, and help out at mental support groups.
Some of my time is dedicated to programming or writing music.
I'm multilingual, so say hi in your native language and I might learn something new.
Hello Fosstodon, I migrated from Mastodon.technology.
I live in Milan, Italy, where I've always worked in astronomy & space outreach and education. I'll toot about these and my other tech interests and passions such as retrocomputing, Python, Assembly programming, Android and Google, coding, and more.
This is me at Kennedy Space Center on Apr 21, 2022. Behind, at pad 39A, is the Falcon 9 rocket that carried my astronaut friend Samantha Cristoforetti to space days later.
Welcome! Whether you're new here or an old hand, please write an #introduction to help us get to know you. Hashtags can help others find you.
I'm Nelson, your Jawns.Club admin, and a #climateJustice activist living in the Mt. Airy neighborhood of #Philadelphia. I love #bicycles / #ebikes, #birdsong, and #solar power. Last year I moved house entirely by bicycle. My favorite band is #Queen, and I'm slowly collecting #vinyl from local musicians. I sing in the bath and carry a song in my heart.
Hi! I'm Mycroft. I've been a furry for nearly 30 years. I'm a greymuzzle by now.
I'm not too deep into the furry community, or any community really.
I'm a socially awkward nerd (white cis male/demiguy irl) that can sometimes get overwhelmed. Please say hi and get to know me before requesting to follow here, I take it as kind of an obligation.
Helllo World!
climatejustice.events is a #Mobilizon Server from and for the climate justice movement. We try to provide a platform where even inexperienced activist (or people that don't even know they are) can learn about workshops, demonstrations, climate camps and more. We are always grateful for suggestions on improving the server and even more when people announce events there! #introduction#NeuHier
Hi all -- new to Mastodon. I'm a professor who studies public health ethics, public health law, and history of medicine & public health (19th c. Americanist).
I do policy work, teach, design programs and curricula, and work closely with students.
