Hi 👋 my name's Joshua Byrd. I'm one of the admins of this Mastodon 🐘 instance https://bne.social with Ash! Currently I'm a software developer 👨💻 and digital storyteller at ABC News in the Story Lab team. I'm married 💒 and have a daughter called Vada and also a little pup named Misty.
Hey everyone my name is Violet I’m a 21 year old trans girl on the autism spectrum and I want to come on here and introduce myself and say hi. I’m visually impaired and some of my interests are watching Netflix science as well as physics and chemistry. I also love fashion and clothes. I hope everyone is having a good day or night. #introduction’s
Guess I should start with my #introduction. Hi there! I'm Mea, Aussie Artist - primarily digital stuff but I try a little bit of everything. Resin, Acrylic Painting, Mixed Media, 3D Sculpting and Printing... an anything that takes my fancy. I love learning new techniques and trying new things!
Included is a pic of me and my Original Characters - I'm also an avid roleplayer and love coming up with backstories for my creations. All of the ones pictured I actively RP in some way with someone, somewhere.
I also love creating creatures either chimeras that are various animal parts put together somehow, using ancient animal descriptions to make something up, or creating alien races that have infinite possibilities.
Currently I'm a kitty-mom to seven... three permenant furbabies - Terra, Fuzzbutt and Dagos (pronounced Takohs). And four foster kittens; Ciri, 'Connor', Nero (short for Habanero) and Hal (short for Jalapeno). Looking after them until they're old enough for vaccinations and we can find them a fur-ever home. (If you're local let me know if you're looking for a sweet kitten to keep forever!) XD
I have a kofi page for donations, memberships, commissions and digital downloads in my shop. If you're interested in any of them check out http://ko-fi.com/MeaKitty <3
Hi, I'm not entirely new here, but moved to this lovely place from another instance and thought I should introduce myself to my new local TL.
My pronouns are she/her. I'm a translator and educator and live in South-West Germany. My French writing skills aren't so great but I can read most of your French posts without resorting to DeepL.
You will see posts in English and German from me, lots of cat pics and a bird quiz every morning (in German).
I love #soapmaking and #birding. #introduction
Ich bin eine Hamburger Autorin und habe bisher 12 Bücher veröffentlicht:
z. B. Duplik Jonas 7, Putzfrau bei den Beatles, Die vier Liebeszeiten, Wir kennen uns nicht, Unter Markenmenschen, Die Schwarze Rosa
My current job is about fixing and automating global supply chains, one line of code at the time, but I have worked in a wide range of industries over the past (nearly) two decades.
My hobbies often involve automating everything around me.
:linux: #Linux user since 2001. My experience as a Linux admin started back in a time when I used run my IRC and Apache servers on a repurposed Pentium 1 under my bed, and it still took about 10 💾 to install a full Slackware system.
:arch: #Arch Linux and rolling release enthusiast.
🛠 Creator and main developer of #Platypush (https://platypush.tech), an open-source (mainly :python: and :vue:), general-purpose platform/framework to automate everything - from smart devices, to cloud services, to robots, to DevOps operations, to everything in between. With hundreds of available integrations, you can think of it as IFTTT+Tasker+SmartThings on steroids, scriptable, and runnable on almost any device. Or maybe like HomeAssistant's lighter brother.
Admin of https://social.platypush.tech, a Mastodon instance where I may talk a lot about Platypush, automation, programming, electronics and maths. I tend to write a lot, so if you're looking for an instance with a 10,000 characters per toot limit...
Looking for relays with instances dedicated to similar topics. My dream would be to build an experience, when it comes to #Fediverse#relays, that is akin to curated #OPML lists, where admins can create curated federated experiences for the users on their platforms, rather than the open-to-everything overwhelming stream of toots on the federated timeline that most of the relays provide nowadays.
I may often write about random politics/economics/philosophy. I may sometimes be very passionate on topics such as open-source, open data, open protocols, tolerance and social inequalities. I mostly belong to the progressive/social-democratic field. You are welcome to try and change my mind, as long as you do it in a civilized and data-driven way.
🏄 and 🛹️ rider. And, as a good Dutch resident, 🚲 enthusiast.
Hi, I'm Max. I live in #NYC and do #journalism at PCMag where I cover #infosec, #security, and #privacy. I also write reviews of #VPN and professionally complain about #capitalism. I'm the Unit Chair of the ZDCG #union and moonlight as a #labor organizer. If you want to learn about how to unionize your workplace, plz DM me. I play #banjo badly and think about #medieval literature. I'm spending too much money on #fountainpens.
I'm a forty-something IT professional that started his career tinkering with the C64 in the 80s.
I was on Twitter for a few years but that appears to be going down the drain lately, so figured I check out this Mastodon-thing.
Interests are music, technology, programming, electronics, 3D printing and retro-computing. My partner would say I have too many C64s and MCUs. (I'd strongly disagree.)
Hope to meet new people and have a fun and interesting time on here.
I'm a German web developer currently living the rural life in Spain making #olive oil, breeding #goats and growing vegetables.
Before that I spent 23 years in the UK, studying sound engineering, working at and then running a #CommunityRadio station and volunteering at a #CSA (community-supported agriculture) project 1/2
I've been on masto quite a while now, so I think an #introduction is overdue.
Moin. I am a (soon to be finished) computer science student in Germany. My interests are #FOSS#functionalProgramming and #gamedev. I focus on 2D puzzlers but am open for more. I am also interested in human languages. Especially conlangs like #TokiPona. If able, I go climbing fairly regularly.
Sadly I am not very good at expressing myself so if I say something controversial, take it with a grain of salt.
For all of the newcomers here, here is my re- #introduction post.
I'm a :linux: FOSS enthusiast who uses Budgie :budgie:, #cartophile, #roadgeek, and single (looking for a lady). I work in IT in a retirement community.
In my spare time, I collect and read maps, go hiking, kayaking, camping, and other outdoor recreation, and play Euro Truck Simulator 2 and American Truck Simulator. I contribute data to OpenStreetMap whenever I can.
Originally, I'm from Austin, Texas now in NW Pennsylvania.
Hi, I'm aekis, I'm a nonbinary queer person from Germany. On this account I post about the things I do: I'm an #electronics engineer doing work in #kicad both at work and at home with a passion for all things mechanical, #metalworking, #cnc & manual #machining, #3dprinting and especially #toolmaking and machine (re-)building.
I post about my projects here and sometimes make videos about them which you can find on diode.zone & youtube, links below. 1/2
Hello hello, I'm KuJoe and I'm relatively new to the whole fediverse thing but I freaking love it.
I love all things tech and I dabble in a lot of different things from coding to content creation to gaming to streaming tech to cloud gaming platforms.
I enjoy building websites (frontend and backend) and love finding new projects.
I'm a big proponent of positivity, creativity, and self-improvement which was the basis of me creating https://Mindly.Social
Since everyone else is doing it, an #introduction toot from me too(t):
Hi! I'm clq! I live in Oslo, and work as a Software Engineer. I'm in my (just about) early 30s. I have a variety of interests, few of which I ever post about online due to a “who could possible care?”-feeling, but hey, maybe that can change.
I'll be posting mainly in English. Even though I've lived in Oslo for almost 8 years now, I've worked, and had most of my social life, in English since moving back to Norway.
