The story of Chanie Wenjack is a sad one. He survived #residentialschool for 3 years before he ran away. He was found dead from exposure beside railway tracks as he tried to find his way home 600 kms away.
On Oct. 19, a work of #art was unveiled at Union Station in #Toronto that commemorates Chanie and his story, as well as the work of the #GordDownie & Chanie Wenjack Fund to keep the memory of the residential schools legacy alive.
