I have so many follow relationships with so many talented people here!
It's so great to see all of you and your interesting projects and creations across such a variety of hobbies and professions.
It's only going to get better with Threads federation under way! Future of Fedi will sure be interesting and I'm glad to be a part of something that could fundamentally change the way "Internet" is done as a whole.

Activitypub or Atproto ... one item that both Mastodon have in common with Bluesky is amount of "spam" links and accounts boosting those "spammy" accounts
Several "award winning art / photo" profiles I saw had 5 or more links including their pinned post
Win goes to Bluesky since they seem to have better control of that ... for now
…I noticed that they gave shoutouts to #Mastodon & #WordPress (#Tumblr was strangely ignored) as well as credited #Misskey for their quote implementation (even #Firefish received an honorable mention).
I do wonder how many Threads users have activated ActivityPub on their account‽

Not every fediverse user want to connect to Bluesky but for those that do, you can look into using Friendica. The next release will allow you to use your Bluesky account from within Friendica. Interact with Mastodon / Msskey / Pixelfed etc and Bluesky users together on one platform

Come qualcuno di voi avrà notato, infatti, i link che si riferiscono ai post #Friendica (purtroppo è anche un problema di #Misskey) non producono un'anteprima (probabilmente perché Friendica non è in grado di esporre i tag #OpenGraph, ma non sono certo al 100% che il motivo sia questo)...

Yesterday's 2024.3.0 update makes it impossible to react on Firefox for iOS because the reaction picker doesn't show (the UI still darkens though).
This does not happen with Safari on iOS and also not on Misskey 2024.2.0 so it seems to be a bug specifically in that combination. #misskey#fediadmin#misskeyadmin#firefox#ios

Now that the crisis is over, your local admin of your local Mastodon, Misskey, Sharkey, Pixelfed, and other platforms on the Fediverse are now stuck with the extra bandwidth and data cost
February is a short month, and unfortunately, much of the Fediverse was attacked this month, leaving many server admins with a costly bill now that the crisis is over.

#Bluesky supports #quoteposts, but not listing all known quotes of a post? And you're telling me this is supposed to be the most Twitter-like experience, when this feature has been a staple of #Twitter for many years?
This is worse than not having #hashtags. How tf am I supposed to know if a post got quoted? Even #Misskey supports listing all known quotes FFS! :parsee_angy:
Da mesi non cagavo minimamente #Misskey — e ora non è che la cosa cambierà, nel senso, ormai sono abituata con sto WordPress per diffondere per via internettica i miei dannosi pensieri e andrà bene così — e a quanto pare la nuovissima novità innovativa è che ci sono i #videogiochini ora. Un po’ hanno il sapore di quelli stile Facebook/Telegram, ci sono i punteggi e le classifiche d’istanza; dall’altro lato sono curiosi, perché sono proprio a tema del #software (credo però che per ora non siano espandibili, ci sono quelli dei mantenitori e basta). E sono due, “Bubble Game” e Reversi: il primo sta già causando dipendenza patologica nel #Fediverso, il secondo sembra non filarselo nessuno (forse perché è esclusivamente multiplayer?). 🎰️
This only applies in #Mastodon. #Misskey and its forks like #Sharkey have #fulltextsearch too and they will ignore your "#privacy setting" for every post it has ever seen from you. And IIRC Misskey did implement full-text search way earlier than Mastodon has started debating about it. :sagume_think:
