My dream is to see a detailed, multi-pixel image of an exoplanet in my lifetime. A Solar Gravity Lens telescope could achieve that. If only America/NASA would finance such a project. An SGL telescope would be situated somewhere near the edge of the solar system, specifically where an Einstein ring is formed around the sun. This ring could be deconstructed to recover images of distant celestial bodies/exoplanets.

You've gotta hand it to the wicked Wahhabi dictators of Saudi Arabia for managing to transform the holy Islamic city of Mecca into a hybrid real-life version of 's Minas Morgul & Mordor. I'm not sure that's how non-Muslims will be convinced that is the "true religion" lol. Ah yes, who doesn't wanna join Sauron's faith? The Wahhabi/Saudi monarchy razed down literally every historical site in Mecca, only to replace them with this alien monstrosity:

By his own logic, Russia and Ukraine should both be part of Iran because the ancient Scythians (an Iranic people) lived there thousands of years ago, long before the arrival of the Slavic peoples.

This is exactly why I hope we erase natl borders one day and become one global federation. This planet doesn't belong to anyone. We're just guests here.

Remember all the Western uproar, sanctions and occasional military interventions when Syria's Baathist dictator, Bashar Al-Assad, barrel bombed his own cities and razed them to the ground under the pretext of fighting against Western-backed Islamic terrorists? Now that #Israel does the same thing to #Gaza / #Palestine under the guise of fighting #Hamas, the West's response is not only silence but complete support for Netanyahu.

This war was a huge win for the ayatollahs and Islamists. Huge win.

@Barrikoi1 I don't think Westerners realize how volatile the situation is here. Millions of angry Arabs in Egypt, Jordan, etc. already hate their dictatorial rulers for being "Israeli/American puppets", not to mention the dire economic conditions. Once the Israel-Gaza war ends, another wave of uprisings will emerge in the MENA region. All Israel-friendly regimes will be overthrown & replaced by hostile govts. Only winners from this are the radicals on both sides. They need each other to thrive.

If you're shocked by the images, it's because you've been lied to by your media.

BTW, this is what Iran looks like EVERYWHERE. Most women don't wear the hijab, and the authorities couldn't care less.

Is Iran a liberal democracy? No, but neither are America's Mideastern/Muslim "allies". And compared to them, Iran is actually more democratic, which is ironic.

And it's not an ethno-state like either.

I've been on for only a few days and I already feel less anxiety/stress over here than on twitter/X. I love the fact that both Mastodon and are overall leftist/left-wing. I'm so glad the future of social media is decentralized (e.g. , ATProto, Nostr, etc.).

Twitter was never a healthy place with all its silly algorithms and encouragement of confrontations. I don't know which platform US society mostly resembles, but I hope it eventually resembles Mastodon, etc.

You don't have to be White to rule over America, you don't have to be Persian to rule over Iran (Khamenei is Azeri), you don't have to be an Arab to rule over Iraq (the president is Kurdish), etc. But in , if you don't belong to a certain bloodline/ethnicity, then you cannot become head of state. Is this the future humanity wants? A kind of exclusive tribalism that didn't even exist 7000 years ago? What about Zionism makes it attractive? Nothing.

It's precisely why Lebanon is a miserable, failed state. Lebanon is ironically what Israel would look like without continuous US financial and military aid. It would quickly turn into a collection of poor sectarian cantons. In fact, there's already a halachic proto-state in the West Bank due to the settlers. Nobody in the Mideast aspires to become like Lebanon. Israel, however, is falsely advertised by its Western backers as a modern state, when in reality it's incredibly regressive.

This was Israel's plan all along. The goal is to annex and drive all Palestinians to Egypt and Jordan. If the US/West allows this to happen, then it will embolden the likes of , and also legitimize radical Islam in the eyes of 1-2 billion Muslims.

The "Digital Museum of Planetary Mapping" is an initiative by a Hungarian university to offer a of all historical planetary , dating as far back as the 1600s, when telescopic views of the moon & planets made it possible to map surface features of other worlds, albeit with less detail & precision than today.

Thanks for all the follows, dear users. ❤️
So a little bit about myself: I'm from Kuwait. My mother's from England though. I'm pretty much mixed-race. My father's Kuwaiti, but his ancestors came from Iranian Balochistan, hence my surname (Al-Belushi). The Baloch people are an Iranian ethnic group, closely related to Persians and Kurds, and distantly related to other Indo-European peoples. These maps and pics can give you an idea of my people:

Doesn't it make you feel so warm & fuzzy inside? Here's an idea: how about Europe reduces its dependence on ALL genocidal govts? Plus, I hope they realize Russia can easily seal off the Caspian Sea.

Here's an interesting fact. I've been on since August 2023. I have 300 posts over there, almost all of which are related to science. I only have 29/30 followers there. By contrast, I've been on for only a few days, have posted 37 times, and already have 47 followers. Either I'm terrible at communication, or Bluesky is a dead undiscoverable platform. Or maybe both. Could be an algorithmic issue, or it could be that Bsky has the worst search engine (plus no hashtags).

For the record, dear users, is NOT Jack Dorsey's pet project, nor does he even post there. He's too busy high-fiving his cryptobros on Nostr, a protocol that's ironically many times better than ATProto/Bsky but will probably never take off, so long as it is littered with cryptocurrency nonsense and remains devoid of anything even remotely educational or newsworthy. Nostr doesn't need your email or phone number. Too bad all that people ever do on Nostr is talk about crypto. 😩

A terrorist attack carried out by ISIS resulted in the killing of at least 30 civilians in Pakistan's Balochistan province. Balochistan is a region that stretches from southwest Pakistan all the way to southeast Iran. My father's ancestors were from Iranian Balochistan (hence "Al-Belushi"). For decades, Pakistan has propped up terrorist groups like the Taliban in Afghanistan. The shortsighted policy was bound to backfire. Turkey should take note. Sigh...

There are 2 likely outcomes for the -- war:

  1. Israel annexes / & expels the Palestinians. Pro-US/Israel Arab govts will be toppled by their citizens via revolutions or armed uprisings. Israel will find itself surrounded by extremely radicalized neighbors.

  2. Israel withdraws from Gaza, & Hamas returns. Many Israelis will emigrate due to the possibility of more Hamas attacks in the future.

The best thing Israel should've done was NOT go to war.

The war between and is a win-win for 's Ayatollahs, and a lose-lose for the US/West. Whether or not it was intentional, it looks like a strategic masterstroke by Iran's rulers. The war has 2 outcomes, both of which will be bad for Israel and its deeply unpopular Arab allies. Either / gets annexed by a "Greater Israel", or it falls under Islamist control all over again. Either outcome will lead to the fall of Zionism.

Maybe---and this is what I hope---both protocols will flourish in the coming era of the decentralized internet/web.

This is what I know for a fact, though:

  1. is finished.
  2. In the far, far future, protocols might look a lot like , where email addresses and phone numbers aren't required, and passwords are replaced by private keys.
  3. Even beyond Nostr will be P2P protocols.

One of my favorite theories of consciousness is "analytical idealism" by philosopher Bernardo Kastrup, which posits that we are all multiple personalities of one consciousness. In other words, we are all different dissociations of cosmic consciousness. It is this very universal mind that has given rise to matter. It's scientifically more sound than you'd think, especially when realizing how observer-dependent reality is according to quantum physics.

I'm unashamedly a world federalist. If humanity wishes to survive into the future and become a spacefaring civilization, then it must eventually unite. A direct democratic global federation should be the ultimate goal. Let's start with a United States of , and a North American Union. Gradually, the rest of the world should follow suit. East Asia and the Middle East are in dire need of their own supranational federations as well.

Two things mustn't be allowed to happen:

  1. mustn't be allowed to redraw 's borders.
  2. mustn't be allowed to take / or expel the Palestinians from their lands.

If the US/West fail to stop these 2 things, then the right of conquest, which became illegal after the end of WW2 according to UN intl law, will be normalized again. And if that happens, then the world will head towards WW3. It'll encourage copycats to do the same thing.
