Relations between Algeria & Morocco are worsening.
Years ago, Morocco recognized in return for America's recognition of Morocco's illegal annexation of Western Sahara, a territory that the UN says is still under foreign rule/occupation. Western Sahara was meant to become an independent state in the 70s. Algeria & most of Africa support its independence, while Morocco & the US don't.

Lately, Morocco has begun laying claim to parts of Algeria too.

I support the rules-based order & want Russia to be defeated & pushed back to the internationally-recognized borders.

However, this won't change the fact Ukraine supported the US invasion of Iraq & Turkey's genocidal war on the Kurds, sold weapons to the Saudis in their war on Yemen, & sent weapons to radical Islamists in Libya & Syria.

and the Telescope Institute have just publicly released two mid-infrared images of exoplanets, which were taken by the James Webb Space Telescope.

The first (on the left) is of exoplanet SR 12 AB c, pictured orbiting around its host star. The second (on the right) is of the exoplanetary system GSC 6214-210.

These are raw images and therefore aren't in color, but anyone can process them.

It's basically a message board where you can find any specific scientific arXiv paper that you're looking for & ask questions or post comments about the paper in question. You can also highlight the specific area in the paper that you wish to ask about or comment on. The authors of that arXiv paper could then reply to you.

has always been bot-infested, but it has certainly gotten worse under Elon's management/ownership. You guys have no idea how many millions of bot accounts belonging to non-Western dictatorships exist over there. Every single nasty regime under the sun---such as the Saudi or Azerbaijani regime---has an army of twitter trolls/bots. They'd dogpile on you if you say anything negative about those regimes.

  1. I agree with those who say that interviewing that transphobe would merely make her more popular. It'd normalize the presence of such people. We saw what happened in 2016 with the media amplifying Trump.
  2. You failed to debunk her lies about people below a certain age supposedly being allowed to have irreversible gender-affirming surgery.
  3. You barely spoke about the victim(s) of transphobia, in this case Nex Benedict.

It saddens me that the people/developers over on have decided to intertwine the fate of their protocol with that of and other currencies. One day, bitcoin will be banned almost everywhere, including in the US, and its downfall will lead to the fall of Nostr as well. How can they not see thru bitcoin's ponziness?

I'm so grateful that / and / didn't go down that slippery route.

@fifilamoura That's definitely another problem with Nostr, although I think it's mainly because they bridged to Mastodon and ended up amplifying the far-right Mastodon/ActivityPub instances that are normally not visible around here. Nostr is a complete mess, in all honesty. I don't know what future it holds, if any. The only things they got right were replacing passwords with private keys, and not requiring people's email addresses when they wanna create a Nostr account. The rest is just a mess.

@fifilamoura Yes, I learned about that the hard way when I saw one of my Mastodon posts on Nostr and read all the hateful replies lol. Not surprising that a money-oriented platform ends up attracting the far-right. This is how all money-oriented / for-profit social media platforms end up eventually, as what happened to Twitter (and, to a lesser extent, Facebook). Nostr's whole "free speech" schtick is a farce anyway, since servers were merely replaced by relays that get to decide what is posted.

Honestly, I had no idea DuckDuckGo had its own web browser lol. This article reminded me to try out DuckDuckGo's search engine again, and compare its search results with those of Google Search. I was actually surprised to find out that DuckDuckGo churned out way better search results. I'm definitely gonna use it instead of Google from now on.
