I recently learned that there IS a limit to how many times your CFO will tolerate you singing “Hard Knock Life” in the middle of a team meeting, so I guess I’m #OpenToWork, LinkedIn fam.
Hi Mastodon Community 👋 - I am looking for a new role and would appreciate your support. Know anyone who needs an iOS engineering subject matter expert?
Thank you in advance for any connections, advice, or opportunities you can offer. In the meantime I’m back to being an indie developer! 🎉 #OpenToWork#iosdevelopment#visionos#swiftui#mobileappdevelopment#engineeringmanagement
Anyone looking for a senior software develop to bring on board their team? 10+ years experience in Go, C++, Python, Node, Java-based projects. I'm US-based but open to global teams.
1/ My postdoc position ends soon, so I'm looking for a new data analysis, programming (#RStats, #Python), or research role that can be #remote from Newcastle upon Tyne, UK. I'm a US citizen (which may open up US jobs?) and have the right to work in the UK.
I’ve just been laid off and am therefore extremely available for hire!
I know a decent bit of #Python and some #TypeScript, have worked in #AWS#cloud environments for a number of years now, also love #Django, and have a good amount of practice with #remote work. I’m also usually up for learning something new.
Got a top notch graphic artist here for hire mates, boost appreciated. Let’s find him a stable contract!
Andy Carolan @andycarolan has supplied many of the social.lol community including myself with adorable little profile pics and he’s looking for work(he doesn’t just do profiles, of course). Check out his site https://andycarolan.com for a portfolio!
Friendly reminder to #FOSSY folks that I'm #opentowork. I was a volunteer photographer at the event, but I have 10+ years experience in tech. Would love to provide value to you and your team and help grow open source.
If you or someone on your team is looking for a tech lead or senior dev, feel free to DM me. I'd love to chat with your team!
I have open availability for web dev projects this summer. If you're looking for a performant, accessible, and resilient website built to withstand growth and change, I'd love to chat about how I can help make that happen.
Today, I applied for an administrative assistant role at the Clinton Foundation, a proofreader position for educational books at Disney, and a customer support position at Zillow. It's been a tough year for my failing online ESL business, and I may have held on for too long. I am open to remote work opportunities and have experience creating/maintaining websites with WordPress. https://www.baenglish.com/paul-blake-cv-2023/#opentowork#wordpress#remote#Introduction#introductions
Oh, yeah. I'm feeling ready to more publicly talk about this.
I'm looking for a job.
I'm pretty good with the codes. The Python codes, the C++ codes, the Node.js/Javascript codes. Getting up to speed with the Rust codes right now and having fun doing it. I know databases and caches and message queues and continuous integrations and clouds and assemblers and compilers and debuggers and linkers and unices. I can build, I can document, I can debug, I can design, I can test, I can teach, I can mentor, I can analyse, I can reverse engineer. You get forward engineering too, but I don't have an engineering degree. Been doing this for a while. I'm on the older side of things.
Pretty good with numbers too. If for some reason you want me to solve a partial differential equation, I'm on it. I can also do stats and I'll do it even if you prefer to call it data science.
I live in Canada, so that's where I need to get hired. I prefer remote, but if you want me to go into an office, it's going to have to be in Montreal.
Let me know if you'd like to see my serious face and I'll send you my CV.
I am super excited to share that I have finished my PhD at the University of California, San Diego!! I came in seven years ago wanting to examine user security behaviors at large-scale, and my thesis title was Prioritizing Security Practices via Large-Scale Measurement of User Behavior, which I am so insanely proud of (you can find it at https://arianamirian.com/docs/amirian_final.pdf).
It feels so odd to be typing this. I truly don’t have the words to thank the folks who I have been so fortunate to work with — my advisors, many collaborators, labmates, and the friends who kept me sane during it. It’s really been a journey of victories, rejections, and massive personal growth, and looking back I wouldn’t have had it any other way. I did good work with some really fantastic people, and I am so thankful and grateful to have had this opportunity and these experiences. I have so much more I want to say on this, so I wrote a short piece on looking back at my PhD: https://arianamirian.com/docs/writings/on_finishing_phd.html.
What’s next? A little bit of a break and enjoying this summer of connection and travel. But that also means I am officially #opentowork :) If you need someone who knows security, measurement, and how to use data/research science to make empirically based decisions for you organization, I’m your gal. My DMs are open.
Yesterday was my last workday at SmartMed with many thanks to my amazing colleagues there! I'm absolutely grateful for all the opportunities I've had to further grow myself, my teams and the organization in its scale-up phase as a whole. I'm going to miss them loads.
But I've realized, despite learning loads in my last few years of commercial software development: I'm still a non-profit health professional at heart and homesick for the hospital context where I started. Not to return to practicing as a doctor, but I'm excited to bring 7 years of healthcare IT experience and data interoperability expertise back to the direct clinical setting. Looking to go "full circle" in an innovative hospital/clinic (or adjacent e.g. research institute) that wants to make their patient care better by making better use of data and tech.
First I'm going to settle into a much needed summer break, but also open to talking about potential opportunities afterwards! See a match? Get in touch! #OpenToWork
Friends. I’m looking for work. I’m a UX designer/researcher, information architect, and UI designer/developer. I bring over two decades of experience to the table. I’m also an accessibility/usability expert.
If you have a need I’d love to talk with you. If you know folks, I’d love a boost. Thank you! 🙌🏻
If anyone is looking for an experienced product designer and front-end developer, I’m eager to talk! I spent a long time in ed-tech and the last several years with Playground Sessions, a piano learning app for iPhone, iPad, macOS, and Windows.
Early #Perl luminary and author (#OReilly camel and llama books, many magazine articles, etc.) Randal Schwartz, a/k/a merlyn, is in dire financial straits.
He needs gainful #employment NOW of any kind, and although his #programming language of choice now is #Dart and the #Flutter framework, he’s willing to fall back on his @Perl chops.
Ideally, I'm looking for something full-time, but I'm open to consider contract and freelance opportunities. I wish to remain in #Halifax (Canada), so I'm looking for something on-site in the HRM, or hybrid and remote work that I can do from home.
Looking for a new gig, laid off from Disney after 25 years. My areas of expertise include #java and #postgres, as well as the Microsoft stack (#SQLServer). I have vast domain knowledge in the field of movie distribution. #OpenToWork#HireDisney
