Certain folks are saying that Bluesky’s search capabilities spell potential doom for the Fediverse.
Except Bluesky is only searching on one node. What happens when you add another node? What happens when you add 10,000 nodes for Bluesky to connect with?
Will all nodes that use AT protocol have comparable search?
Will Bluesky’s search even be as good as what’s available on Misskey, Akkoma, Friendica, and some forms of Mastodon?
Scrolled a bit through #ThreadsApp just now. The #meta (haha) posting seems to have died down. At this point I’m maintaining the account as a starter list of normies and Brands™ once the service opens up federation.
Updating my #introduction post because I feel like I'm going to be here a while ☺️
Quickly, first up all of my content (especially the AI generated stuff) that I put up on Mastodon will be covered by CC BY-SA #CCBYSA. Basically, you can use and remix my stuff but you gotta let others do the same to whatever you create with the original. Also, please link me in and show me what you did!
Secondly, all my posts are scheduled to be deleted after 3 months to help the storage costs of the admin so if you like something make sure you delete it before it's gone!
I have had chronic fatigue for about three years. The last year and a half is very noticeable in everything, especially as a programmer.
I watched another movie with Ben Affleck. And I see that he has been very exhausted for the last 5 years in all the films. I look at him and see myself, but I am a millions times poorer
I am Piyush Chandwani. A fullstack web-developer and a #programmer based India #MastIndia . I have a deep understanding in the art of creating website 🧑💻.
I am a #webdev enthusiast and like to share great resource with these awesome folk's over here.
It is amazing that #VSCode has just quietly dominated the IDE world without a lot of debate. It used to be a fight between Emacs/Vim, JetBrains, Eclipse and a long list of smaller IDEs.
Now I see either VSCode or a proprietary IDE if your stack has one.
Here's some hard-won old #python#programmer wisdom. (Been talkin' to these gol-durn machines for forty years now!)
When doing something like this
if self.foo() or self.bar:
...
And your code relies on self.foo() to be called every time, leave future you a brief comment warning against reversing the order of the terms.
This one (proprietary) project of mine is now over 30,000 lines in 150 mostly unit-tested modules & it gets hard to remember everything 100%. Maybe more after 40 years...
What could be worse than rewriting old code that was written by another person, who called variables not only with lexical errors, but also using words unrelated to the code context... 👽🛸
I maintain a personal website and blog at <starbreaker.org/>, and all of my fiction is available for free there.
A decade ago I published Without Bloodshed, which sold well enough to complicate my tax returns for a couple of years thanks to a modest following I had on Google+. A few years later I published Silent Clarion, which bombed. Probably my own damn fault.
I'm working on another novel called Spiral Architect in the same setting with the same cast, and most of my responses to #WritingWonders and #PennedPossiblities will be based on that #WIP.
I'm not big on following people just because they've followed me so I'm not a good fit for your #WritingCommunity, but if you follow me, and then actually interact with me I'll probably follow you back.
