Democrat David Trone adequately represents the only competitive House district in the state, but I’m glad his privately-funded campaign didn’t buy the Senate primary. Angela Alsobooks is the choice of Maryland Democrats.

Republican Larry Hogan may be anti-Trump, but he’ll vote however Mitch McConnell’s successor wants. Alsobrooks will be a reliable vote for Maryland’s interests. Plus the Senate needs Black women’s voices. Enough with Maryland’s all-male delegation.

@MariaHill "Republican Larry Hogan may be anti-Trump, but he’ll vote however Mitch McConnell’s successor wants." I'm not sure this is true. Hogan has a moderate Republican profile and seems unlikely to go along with all the crazy. What's true and important is as Senator he'll make McConnell's successor the Majority Leader, which means no more judges and the GOP can block any bill they want, plus put any bill they want onto the floor. If you don't vote for Alsobrooks, you endorse that outcome.

@vwbusguy I got my first RAID array recently but am not an expert. I did my research (🪦) and selected RAID 5 because it 1) seems to retain the most storage capacity while 2) offering redundancy. Clearly I screwed up. Where did I go wrong in my analysis? What was I lied to about?

The right kept their eye on the Supreme Court prize for 50 years. They waited that long to get a majority that would do whatever they wanted. Unfortunately, it paid off.

At least some of the left doesn’t seem to be nearly as focused on the Supreme Court as the right was. These are lifetime appointments and there is no quick fix. We have to wait it out and keep our eye on the prize, like the right did.

@TonyStark If Donald Trump wins in November, Thomas and Alito will see their window to retire and be replaced by forty-somethings with identical ideology. Anything can happen to one of the three moderates, so he may well replace one or more of them as well. If you vote for anyone besides Joe Biden, you endorse that outcome, which will affect you for 30-40 years.

Dear @firefox : Please stop saving images as webp when I drag them out of the browser. Forever stop that. Even if they are webp originally, just give me a setting to auto-convert them to JPEG. When I get a webp file the first thing I have to do is convert it manually if I'm going to do anything with it.

@grue You don't need to identify yourself as a Linux user. The insulting remark at the top of your post and the tone of the rest of it makes it clear.

Ever been forced by your workplace to use a piece of software you'd prefer not to? For example, ever tried to share a webp image on MS Teams? You can't; you have to convert it first. Lots of household-name software rejects the format.

Hopefully the Firefox team needs to care about more than the needs of condescending Linux users.
