It looks like Apple Pay is finally coming to India.

https://www.gsmarena.com/apple_is_reportedly_preparing_to_launch_apple_pay_in_india-news-58953.php

Apple has been looking to launch its payment feature called Apple Pay in India for some time now but it hasn't successfully negotiated the terms with local authorities.

do native mobile apps have links? Or is that just a web thing, and apps only have buttons?

I talked about Pocket Rogue briefly in December 2022, but I've been playing it a lot more lately - it's really the best traditional roguelike I've found for Android (It might be in the Apple Store too or other places, I have no idea).

It's fun as hell (and gets tough)! Make sure you watch your satiety, etc - find food when you can and remember to eat.

Luckily, health regenerates when you walk around more. Be careful- some monsters are easy, others are TOUGH. Always equip the best gear, etc.

It's a trip. Grab it at the Play store here, if you have an Android: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.game.sh_crew.pocketrogue

The town area for Pocket Rogue on Android. You'll find this area sometimes, it has a place to store things, and get things, and a staircase. Classic rogue look, all characters are white and yellow on a black background. The controls are shown at the bottom. There are directional controls with arrows on the left, and buttons for your character and a sword icon button to attack, etc on the right.
The death screen for Pocket Rogue on Android. It lists what killed you, your items, etc. When you die, you go back to level 1 via a chute.
Pocket Rogue's inventory screen where you can equip and use things. Watch that satiety - grab food!

I'm looking for a Joplin replacement. Liked the app but kept corrupting my files on sync and I'm tired of resetting. Would prefer something that will sync to self hosted server. Any recommendations?

InDrive to launch in Metro Manila this month. I hope it can compete with Grab, which has a monopoly of the 4-wheel ride hailing market in the PH.

App developers: if you use notifications very sparingly, for things that I actually care about, I'll leave them turned on and even appreciate them.

But if you abuse notifications and hit me with too many, I'll block notifications from your app. Globally. All of them. And then I'll forget about it, and never revisit that decision.

Once you hit that point, it's too late. You ain't coming back.

Think about it before you decide to do notifications.

I am really enjoying using the Timepage app by Moleskine Studio.

Notes:

  • Its a calendar app
  • Works using your existing calendar service (most likely)
  • I personally like the UX
  • iOS and MacOS only
  • Subscription based
  • 3.5 app store rating suggests its probably not for everyone

I've always wondered whether a could install multiple on a single domain.

Turns out that is discouraged, and we are expected to create a different subdomain for every app we build.

I know folks chuckle about old services like , but since being bought by a company, it's been nice to see them improve their mobile app, especially for tablets.
It's just embarrassing at this point how bad is on larger screens.

Started using Habitica again. Used it years ago with my daughter. Immediately hooked again. Don't really know why I stopped, I guess it wasn't important to track regular home habits. But I'm noticing if I don't have anything to list my chores with, I start drifting... I forget to water my plants etc.

Habitica is awesome, open source, you can self-host it too!
