#audio question from an audio newb: I have a pair of external speakers connected to a Mac mini. I would like to toggle between that and a pair of wired Sony headphones without having to unplug one and plug the other in. What type of hardware product will I need? Thanks!

Audon is a great real-time audio streaming service for the #fediverse! Think Spaces or Clubhouse, and you pretty much got it. You create a room for audio, where other people can listen to you, or just give them the role of speaker as well.
You can easily log in with your fediverse (Mastodon/Calckey/Pleroma) account, create a room, share the link, and you're ready to go!
So apparently, on one of the rare occasions I remembered to grab my phone before doing my usual drum practice, I decided to jam. This audio was supposedly captured by me 5 minutes ago, or so the story goes. #Audio#Jam#DrumPractice
Recently I have been playing with various GUI's for the Whisper transcription software. Buzz has definitely won the showdown. Almost completely keyboard accessible, give or take the toolbar which needs exploring through object navigation of NVDA or an equivallent in your screen reader of choice; handles the downloading of models, FFMPEG conversion and everything that otherwise would have required operation in the command line, works with Whisper.CPP as far as I can tell and can be localized to other languages.
Now I can finally listen to podcasts in all the languages I can't speak. I love it when technology enhances my access to knowledge and helps me do my work even better for those who benefit from it. https://github.com/chidiwilliams/buzz #Accessibility#Audio#Languages#OpenSource
For everyone that’s been bitten by Waves switching to subs only, r/mixingmastering is putting together a huge spreadsheet of alternatives for all #Waves#plugins. #audio#musicproduction#daw
"...#Adobe#Photoshop,
or altering AI-generated #audio by using guitar pedals, the guidance says.
It’s clear, though, that the #CopyrightOffice is only in the earliest stages of navigating these complex cases, and guidance remains somewhat vague..."
I do think student discounts on software purchases/subscriptions should always be a thing. But those times in my life I could have most used the help of a discount took place not while a student, but while being a regular person stressed by inconsistent income and earnestly trying to access more professional tools to market myself.
This is among the reasons why I perpetually financially support #Cockos#Reaper and its active community/content/dev figures, as it's among the few pro #audio software suites which is permanently priced very reasonably, and yet does not lock out unregistered users from the software and even its full features. It's the rare accessible middle-ground between full open source and proprietary umbrella licensing or subscription billing cycles.
:opensource: 👂🏽Do any #OpenSource#audio geeks know of tools for #Android (especially) and/or #Linux that can set separate equalization for each ear?
:covid19: Because of #COVID, I have #hearingLoss in my left ear and I would like to boost higher frequencies to get it somewhat equal.
:boost_love: Thanks for any ideas. Please boost if you have audio-smart followers that might have ideas for me, and please wear a mask so this doesn't happen to you.
