<<A local man came up and said ‘Please – what does this mean?’ I explained I wanted to highlight the destruction in Gaza by posting photos on my website – but on the internet people only look at pictures of kittens.>>
I’ve seen quite a few remarks lately that claim that any and all protests are worthy and one cannot ever criticize the form or fashion of a protest. That’s a bizarre and definitely wrong claim.
Really, nobody with an internet connection should need an example, but I can provide a few if necessary.
I appreciate that people are willing to engage with this topic, because it shows that we all care about peace and justice. Here's a helpful history that I think provides this important perspective that can help everyone stay focused on the goal of #peace when constructing a social narrative:
"Resolution of such a long historical conflict is possible only if each side is [...] willing to approach [the other] as an equal."
When a kid dies in my ER, there are multiple debriefs, and we usually see some of our staff really hurting for days afterwards. It’s a rare thing, it is awful, and everyone from the prehospital providers to the ER registration staff are affected.
Hospitals in Gaza have seen thousands of dead kids since October.
One challenge of #Pesach ( #Passover ) is that besides doing a Seder or two, there is not a lot to do during the rest of the 7 (or 8, depending on your minhag) days of Passover besides maybe attending a festival service and of course avoiding chametz (grain products, except for Matzoh).
So I've been thinking about what I can do to make this time more meaningful. The theme of Passover is about #liberation and #peace, but that is, of course, a complicated thing when so many people, especially in #Palestine / #Israel, do not feel free or safe.
This reflects my intention for the upcoming season of #Pesach, to yearn for peace and liberation for all of the peoples who live in #Palestine / #EretzIsrael
Just a reminder, third-parties are the only parties do not support Israel's genocide on Palestine and their war of aggression throughout the middle east. Both Trump and Biden have been the biggest supporters of Israel.. Anything other than a third-party vote this year is a vote in favor of genocide.
#palestine#israel#peace In regard to the claim I have recently seen claims here that Palestine rejected the Oslo Accords. Not true. Palestine adhered to its part of the Agreement to recognise the existence of an Israeli State. Israel still does not recognise a Palestinian State
The agreement set a time guideline of 5 years, during which time Israel would withdraw from the 1967 occupied Palestinian territories in accordance with UNSC Resolutions 242 & 338. It did not. https://johnmenadue.com/australias-recognition-of-the-state-of-palestine-an-overdue-move-in-support-of-peace/
I wish that #peace drove as many of our actions as violence. Physical violence, economic, social, cultural, sexist, racist, environmental, and more. Even the games we play and the foods we eat. Humanity seems driven to destroy not only itself, but everything around it - even the water, air, and soil that support our lives. Earth is written off as collateral damage. We treat our own kind, even our children, as if we are a disease to be eradicated. Choose peace; our choices are being taken away.
Nessuno ci aiuta. Non abbiamo nessuna protezione, nessun diritto.
Vogliono demolire l'unica casa che abbiamo."
I enjoy exploring the world via Google Earth; it's much less damaging to the environment, though may be damaging to your privacy because it's a Google product. In any case, here's a screenshot from #Mandalay, #Myanmar. Sighting a sign with the word "Peace" made me wonder how those folks are doing today. #Peace in Myanmar may be difficult to imagine while a violent military controls the country.
A new BOOK in my Visions and Voice series! Celebrating Christian FAITH. If you believe in loving yourself and loving your neighbor, then this book is for you! If you are a hateful person that uses Christianity to persecute other people, you won't like this book. It's about love, peace, comfort and Jesus.
"Le forze israeliane prendono sistematicamente di mira le case palestinesi durante le incursioni militari nella Cisgiordania occupata."
Case, ma anche scuole e asili, demolite, bruciate, vandalizzate…
"Oltre alla perdita immediata del loro rifugio e dei loro beni, i bambini sperimentano una vasta gamma di traumi psicologici ed emotivi. Assistere alla distruzione delle loro case ed essere sfollati con la forza contribuisce a creare un profondo senso di insicurezza, ansia e paura."
Human trafficking is always part of a #terrorist negotiation. The price per human life on display.
During this stage, Hamas would release all civilian women, children, elderly and sick hostages, in exchange for Palestinian women, minors, elderly and infirm prisoners, at a rate of 30 inmates for every hostage. @palestine @israel
Hamas would then release female soldiers at a price per soldier of 50 Palestinians — 30 serving life sentences and 20 others chosen by Hamas.
After 2000 years of tribal war over 500 miles of beachfront real estate plus #jerusalem, I don't think it's possible to conclude who started the fight.
The only thing missing is who will be brave enough to find the #peace.
