The master tapes have been found by the ReBoot Rewind documentary crew and they need our help with finding a working D1 tape deck to digitize them.

Hey you, YES YOU! We have some good news to share!
For years, there have been rumours circulating about the status of the original PAL D1 masters of ReBoot and whether they still exist. After visiting Mainframe Studios yesterday to take a look through their ReBoot archives, weโre happy to confirm that the masters are all here, for every episode of the show!
Getting a proper digital transfer of the D1 masters is high priority item for us. It would mean having the entire series in the best possible picture and sound quality, presented as accurately as the day it was rendered. Thereโs also a library of additional ReBoot content (animation tests, toy commercials, Electronic Arts video game footage, IMAX content) that is currently stuck on the D1 format and we need to preserve it for the future. This would obviously benefit the documentary but ultimately, it would benefit the fans the most!
Hereโs where we need help. We need a working D1 tape deck to capture all these tapes. Mainframe hasnโt had one for years. We havenโt been able to find anyone in Vancouver, British Columbia, or even all of Canada that has one of these tape decks. Weโd greatly prefer buying or renting one of these decks so that the tapes can be captured locally, without needing to ship them.
If anyone has a lead on where we might be able to get one of these decks, please contact us!

I have been saying for some time, you can't depend on streaming services to keep your favorite shows available.
Same for music.

Today is Indigenous Peopleโs Day in the U.S. I highly recommend the series Reservation Dogs.
Itโs the first series to feature all indigenous writers and directors, along with an almost entirely indigenous North American cast and production team.

It's 2024 and I just bought an S-VHS #VCR along with a standalone #tape rewinder. I'm part of a test group for a #popculture preservation project to digitise and archive #70s, #80s and #90s#TV ads and local news etc. before the tapes deteriorate to the point where they're unusable.

Cโest un fourre-tout et รงa me gonfle souvent. Mais ce gรฉnocide, la destruction des Juifs dโEurope, pour reprendre le titre du livre de Raul Hilberg, occupe une place singuliรจre et majeure dans lโhistoire. Cโest une entreprise que lโesprit a beaucoup de mal ร concevoir, ร comprendre, un point de bascule.
Lโลuvre de Lanzmann est majeure, et cโest pleinement un film de cinรฉma, qui sโadresse au spectateur par les armes du cinรฉma, mรชme sโil ne contient aucune fiction. Lanzmann y a consacrรฉ des annรฉes avec une รฉnergie et une passion folles, une vraie rage aussi, et cโest admirable. Surtout, รงa permet de comprendre un peu. Je dis un peu, parce quโon ne peut que tourner autour de ce qui semble impossible ร concevoir, ร imaginer.
Je trouve que voir ce film est indispensable pour toutes et tous. Je donnerai seulement un conseil : cโest mieux de ne pas le voir seul chez soi. Cโest un sentiment intime que jโai, mais je le sens comme รงa. Le voir avec des inconnus dans une salle de cinรฉ, cโest impec, on est alors en compagnie dโautres humains. Avec des proches ร la maison aussi, bien sรปr. Enfin moi, puisquโil sโagit des frontiรจres de lโhumanitรฉ, jโai besoin de la prรฉsence dโautres humains ร mes cรดtรฉs.
